A land crafted of magic by the lion and carefully sculpted by the Leo goddess Fos herself. Each cardinal direction is occupied by a major geographical feature.

༺ The northern border is shared with Gemini and Libra, with a natural border following the contours of the Karak mountains. The mountains occupy a large section of the north, with earth and stone studded with precious stones and metal ores, rich veins of wonderfully colorful minerals sprinkled plentifully. Many have unusual and magical properties, and are curious substances only found in this part of the world. Branches of cave systems dappled in kaleidoscope colors extended far below the land for uncountable miles, where even its depths have not been determined.

༺ The eastern border is shared with Virgo and Saggitarius, with a natural border twisting with the Regulus river. A great river which flows from the Karak Mountains to Nito Bay, large enough requiring boats to reach the opposite bank of the river. The eastern lands are comprised of bountiful plains and sporadic woodlands, teeming with life and greenery. The black soil results in hyperfertile earth, a veritable breadbasket where life has no trouble blooming.

༺ The southern border is all coastline of Nito Bay, a sheltered inlet of the sea marked by pristine beaches and the occasional towering cliffs. Such a sheltered sea is teeming with aquatic life and hosts calm waters all seasons. The depths of the bay are blanketed by coral and crystal masses, with a massive trench splitting the sea floor with no discernible bottom.

༺ The western border is shared with Pisces, the natural border being the rough transition from Solia’s fertile grassland to the Pisces rocky dead inland. The western land is comprised of flowing grassland, forests, and freshwater river circuits. Massive green hills dot the land, creating pseudo valleys between the large hills which very well be referred as dirt mountains.

༺ Massive fortified cities and towns contain the bulk of Solia’s population, protected by massed defenses and energy shields of crackling power. Sprawling and expansive locations of self sustainment, leaving much of Solia untamed and wild. In the various cities and towns of Solia the use of domes, towers, archways, pillars, and spires are a common design. These structures are usually furnished with smaller designs such as carvings, pictorials, or statues. Usually depictions of the sun or lions. Every structure is crafted with care and skill, and credit to the civil and public engineers must be given for their profound oversight and expansive city planning. Even in the fortress cities there is plenty of space, though most houses are closely knit or connected in sections, dividing housing divisions into multiple ‘prides’ with plenty of interior space. Owed to the close and familial Leo culture where neighbors are merely extended family.

༺ The imperial city, the capital of Solia. The largest fortress city constructed by Solia and by far the safest. Nestled in the western hills Verchiel is a self sufficient city, full of the proper industries to maintain stable, productive, and well supplied without external . Businesses, theaters, schools, and libraries this place has everything someone can dream of. A conglomeration of everything in the land.

Verchiel hosts many key structures such as the Akashic library which hold records on all important information. Every piece of writing ever brought to these hallowed halls are kept safe upon scrolls of parchment unable to be destroyed. As the heart of Solia government Verchiel holds notable locations such as Military high command, noble manors, the treasury, and his majesty’s imperial palace. The Lion Forge toils away in secret depths, creating the hallowed Solarium metal and all manner of crafts for war. The Vaults hold artifacts of history and magic, safeguarding the treasures needed for Solia’s prosperity. More wonders are displayed in the city of lions, and in this land of highest authority the sun shines warmly on Solia’s future.

༺ The second largest fortress city located in the south, and conforms to the coast of Nito Bay. A harbor where as much as 3/4 of the city has expanded onto the water on fortified piers and s. Capable of ing multiple armadas if necessary, it’s a truly ludicrous port like the conjugation of mental fantasies. The streets and harbor are a never ending flow of traffic as numerous trades and goods flow from this trade hub to all corners of the world. The influx of coin makes for a wealthy waterfront and multiple gambling halls, theaters, bath houses, luxurious housing, brothels, and more line the streets. It’s the best city to open up a shop, as an endless flow of people from all walks of life and trades can be readily located.

༺ Considered THE fortress city of Solia its a city crafted with the sole concept of militaristic might. A dizzying mass of towers, walls, and defenses located to the east along the southern coast. It’s proximity to Pinniped City and the mouth of Regulus river resulted in the construction of a military port to maintain and construct naval vessels. Soldiers and ing elements are all that live within the sprawling walls and fortifications, as military and governmental buildings are the norm. Considered a mustering ground for armies and a place to create, maintain, and train soldiers. Here countless training fields simulate environments and locations to prepare soldiers for war. Adrastos is also the hub for research and development. Where all manner of military tech is developed and tested. Here the men are judged worthy, and remain the bulwark against the enemies to come.

༺ The fortress city of the north built deep inside the Karak mountains itself. Primarily subterranean but losing none of the splendor of the surface fortress cities, Yawgmoth may in fact be even tougher to siege than Verchiel City. This city is by far the most industrious with deep maze like mines and heavy industry. Even here in the cold elevations of the north Yawgmoth is always warm, heated by the many foundries and furnaces which smelt the prismatic ores hauled from the deeps, and drive industrial progress for Solia. Unlike most of Solia here the architecture is fantastical yet more functional in design, akin to dwarvish craft, but this city is not populated by such short stocky denizens of the earth. Instead the Leo’s living here are quite a strange type. More dour and fiery as they surround themselves in the primordial fire within the bowels of the mountains.

༺ The lands of eastern Solia are the richest, and Agraren City is the breadbasket. Here vast fields and orchards of corn and wheat and millet are farmed. Sunken ponds for rice, fruit orchards, olive groves, animal pens, and more farmland stretching to the horizon. A fortress farm, with concentric walls defending the production of the bread and butter of Solia. Much like Pinniped City from dawn to dusk ships sail the Regulus river laden with grain, vegetables, meat, fruits, and flowers.

༺ Aether Academy is centrally located smack dab in the middle of Solia. Considered a city state rather than a territory of Solia as it is not under the governmental jurisdiction of Solia. Instead it is owned, operated, and ran by an independent organization of magicians known as the Sages. A board of professors at the academy who oversee the school and govern its allocated territories. However the founder, builder, and heaster of the academy is Nilrem Aurelius. Brother to the king, court mage, and foreign diplomat of Solia, so it can be said that Aether Academy is Solia first above all else. Regardless, this hub of magical energy is where all zodiacs who are gifted and talented weaving the spells of Astrea are welcome to gather. To receive schooling and master their gifts.

༺ Twenty enormous citadels where a single Pilum army makes its home to resupply and recuperate. Bastions of the Netzah Guard and the hearts of the long war. Devoted to battle every location is referred to as Fronts where the Virden gather in great hosts of evil. This is because of the light pillars, the generators of energy uniquely tuned to a Leo. The energy is anathema to the Virden and such heavy concentrations of this light attract their hate. Drawing attention away from the fortress cities at the cost of becoming eternal battlegrounds.

༺ Leo, the prideful lion, is the fifth house of the zodiac. Their kingdom has deep roots, and is a well known sponsor for the arts, theater, magical developments, as well as a well organized and trained military.

✧┋sᴏʟɪᴀ ғᴏᴜɴᴅɪɴɢ┋✧

༺ Long ago during the founding, when the zodiacs began to form on Astrea, the Leo goddess, Fos, foresaw the events of the future and beheld a world of hardship and strife. Her children would be consumed by the dark, destroyed and leaving only echoes of past glory and hope.

The vision tormented her as she could not accept that fate. Fos, in her obsession in preventing the foreseen end bolstered her children with all the power she could muster.

Her divine hands grasped the essence of her children and molded like clay a powerful form for the Leo race. But just that would not be enough. As a goddess Fos could not actively interfere in the material plane, and remained confined to her realm in the heavens. So she willingly fractured herself and shattered to the very core, forming pieces of her power to embed within every Leo. Sacrificing her very self to give her children the power to survive a harsh future. A physical essence inside the body, and apart of a Leo’s soul.

The reforged Leo race began to populate its portion of Astrea. However even with the love of Fos the Leo are beings of free will. Capable of emotion and tied to their nature, a very prideful nature. Solia was not immediately formed, as instead many tribes of Leo’s roamed the lands bickering with each other in primal desires. It took nearly a century for strong warlords to pull the dispersed tribes into a proper kingdom, and even then the kingdom lasted a few decades at most before shattering into civil wars. It would be some time until a kingdom rose from the mire of warfare proper, and that final iteration was a cruel creation.

༺ The new king of the kingdom, Marbas Aurelius, commanded his people under a cruel tyranny. He started a string of territory wars and subjugation against the other kingdoms. In his prideful eyes the Leo’s were the supreme and rightful rulers over all other zodiacs. He encouraged infighting among even his own nation, allowing acts of depravity and crime to flourish under his survival of the fittest rule. Extreme nationalism was enforced, and history of the Leo kingdom that existed before Marbas’s rule was burned or modified. A hundred years of war ed, and finally this long cycle was broken by the 13th in line for the throne, Prince Liam Aurelius.

༺ A civil war broke out, between Marbas and his son Liam. This was known as the War of Succession. A schism of the royal family and the military commenced, and essentially the country split into the loyalists and rebels. Those who would see an end to war and bring peace, and those who wished to continue the cycle of conflict. The fighting was especially ferocious, the land of fire becoming a literal torrent of destructive flame. The battles destroyed many villages and cities, scorching the ground and filling the torn earth with blood and salt. After seven years of war the rebels were victorious, with Liam being the new crowned king. Yet even then the strife did not end.

༺ In a last act of hateful rage, King Marbas cursed the lands with his dying breath, his intent and magical power flowing out one one final act of depravity. Magicians following Marbas performed the same acts, willingly turning their mana into vile chaotic streams of wild mana. The magic was corruptive and an affront to the world, the very air screeching in protest at the vile sorceries. As this mana spread through the lands of Solia, tears in space appeared all across the land spewing dark beasts and foul monsters. Their spawning was random, the monsters from these tears in reality razing villages and besieging cities, drawn to the shards of the sun within every Leo like moths to flame.

These creatures were dubbed ‘Virden’, the Nameless and endless monsters from beyond the realm. At first Solia was truly split into hundreds of small territories fighting for survival. It would take 15 years of desperate warfare to reunite the territories. Liam and his remaining armies marched on the corrupted beasts to protect the remaining cities and villages, a war where every man, women, and child took up arms to survive. Eventually with the combined power of many magicians, they formed domes of congealed mana around the cities that repelled vile mana and Virden. Solarium forts host a lesser form of the shield with the addition of generators that beam pillars of light into the sky. These forts served to attract the Virden and draw them away from the cities, causing the disaster to boil into a slow burn of prolonged warfare.

༺ Liam Aurelius has ruled for 100 years after the reunification, and reformed the country into a grand hub of culture and innovation. Introducing laws and regulations, turning the country into one of peace, strength, and . Sadly, the scars of war still remain, with ruined cities and villages dotting the lands. Outside the energy domes that contain civilization, the Virden still roam and spawn without end, requiring regular hunts to keep too many from pooling around the outskirts of the cities. A solution to completely remove the lingering vile magic has not yet been found. But for now at least, it is the best peace in our time.

Wheat and meat is a common ingredient but every type of farmed organics has a place, leading to diverse artisan breads with splashes of rich coloration accompanied by every manner of cuisine. Most popular are large varieties of cooked meat dishes, with impactful flavoring and delightful consistency. Multiple fleshy and ripe fruits, and even invigorating ales, beer, and mead.

༺ Diet: A Leo generally has large reserves of energy and an efficient metabolism. As a result, large and hearty meals are enjoyed daily as if a Leo’s stomach is a void of endless hunger. The vendors and restaurants in the kingdom are always packed. Even the bars will be filled to capacity most days with many boisterous Leo's seeking good food and drink.

༺ Cultural Center: The arts, theater, sculptures, and many more forms of artistic appreciation flourish in this kingdom. With an optimistic and bright view on life, parties and celebrations are common, akin to social gatherings.

༺ Meritocracy: Anyone can rise to power, even a non Leo if they so desire. Innovation and self improvement are heavily encouraged, and rivalries between others are common, pushing each other to become better than what they are now. Every Leo or foreign zodiac has the power to rise the ranks, if they possess the will. Though equal opportunity is being pushed for all, foreign zodiacs who have decided to live in Solia may feel out of place or pressured, if their natures are wildly different from the typical Leo. The fastest way to recognition is an enlistment into the armed forces, as Solia keeps a well trained and supplied standing army.

༺ Education: Education is understandably an important aspect of Solia. Compulsory education for children ages five to sixteen is held in three month cycles with a month break in between. Physical and magical skill is emphasized. Curriculum is difficult and knowledge studied is of a higher level, with college level subject matter being taught at ‘elementary’ level. As a military dominant society the subject of warfare and combat is predictably included and studied heavily. Outsiders like to compare the system to that of a ‘War College’ though the term is rather accurate.

After basic education the graduates are free to pursue their dreams or a chosen career paths in Solia. The pursuit of mysticism and technology is a popular course, leading to many furthering their schooling in advanced studies. Preparation for professional fields of research and development or enrollment in Aether Academy.

༺ V-Day (August 2nd to 8th): A week long event leading up to the day Demon King Marbas’s forces surrendered in the War of Succession. The first three days are spent in honor of those who fell during the war. Military parades bear somber flags, and memorials around the city in memory of the events. Fresh flowers are planted at the wall of names which list all those who died in the war, loyalist and rebel. The next three days are filled with celebrations, with frivolous parades and parties all across the land, and the palace opens for a large regal celebration. The seventh day, the actual day of victory, is an even grander celebration, to the point the sound of festivities is said to be heard by every other kingdom. An exaggeration, but it shows the scale of celebration.

༺ Sunday: The seventh day of the week. A day of praise and worship directed towards the sun and Fos. Also famously known as the laziest day, as practically nothing ever gets done on time.

༺ Summer Solstice: Days when the sun is the highest altitude of the year are considered holidays.

༺ The kingdom has freedom of religion, as long as that religion does not hurt or encourage the forcible recruitment of a person. But even with that freedom a zodiac will not find many places of worship for the other zodiacs. As Leo's worship the sun and the goddess Fos. Leo children are usually named after a star in the Leo constellation, but a desire to stand out leads to a more diverse series of names in the kingdom.

The church is directed by a head cleric. The leader of the clergy, and in charge of religious ceremony, rituals, and the overall running of the church. Worship and the church is an important part of Solia, but it is predominantly casual. Being a part of the faith does not change the day to day proceedings, but it is easier to relate with others and communities are more tightly knit. A peaceful and content life, a simple desire that is often more powerful than any show of force.

༺ Aurelius is the ruling family of Solia. After the wars the Aurelius bloodline is on the brink of dissolution even after a hundred years. With only the king, his brother, a niece, and a few more familial being all that’s left of a pride once numbering dozens. There is no competition for the throne aside from the mutterings of nobility, and the nobles have no chance of succession unless the Aurelius family has been removed entirely.
