He was born inside a hunter base, and spent the first 4 years of his life in a tank. He thought it was normal to live that way since that's all he knew. His mom told him stories about the ocean and about his dad, who was killed before he was born. She gave him her necklace, so that she'd always be with him, and taught him songs and sang him lullabies she learned from her family. When the hunters decided that he was old enough to stay alive without his mom, they took her and cut her tail off in front of him. He felt like he would shatter into a million pieces. The hunters took them to a lake that was believed to be a home to sirens, and told him to lure them up to the surface. They put a collar around his neck so that they'd be able to find him if he tried to escape. The collar restricted his gills and he could barely breathe underwater with it on, not like the hunters gave a damn though. He managed to pry it off with a rock after a lot of tries, and he buried it before going into the tunnels. There were secret tunnels that connected all lakes to the ocean so that sirens could come and go without having to go on land. He went through tunnel after tunnel until he ed out. He ended up with a small group of sirens who took him in like he was one of theirs, and he was 5 at the time. A year later he had grown curious about the world above the water, and one day he snuck off to the surface. He was immediately amazed by the view in front of him, but it was short lived as the next thing he knew he was being held down by a wolf. It shifted in a person who bragged to him about how their pack would be amazed at seeing how they caught him. He struggled and struggled against them, and his adoptive mom heard the noise and saved him. She lectured him about how he shouldn't have done that and how he couldve died, and he promised her that he'd never do it again. He broke that promise 2 years later, when he was 8 years old. He met a girl his age, Rio. They quickly got along and became best friends, and she taught him about the surface and everything on it, while he told her about how he lived underwater. But when her dad found out what he was, he tried to kill him, but ended up killing Rio instead. He was 17 when she died. He moved away from his adoptive family and went to live in the ocean, holding onto his mothers necklace the entire way there. He met someone as soon as he got there, Keon. He introduced him to the group he lived with and they accepted Ichiro to live with them, though one of the older of the group keep insisting he looked familiar, but he kept shutting the idea down. Keon spent a lot of time trying to get him to tell him where he was from, but he wouldn't talk. He lives with him and that group in the ocean now, though he knows the peace can't last forever.
