#firsttimechallenge Alert!!
For my first "First Time Challenge" I'll tell you about the first ticket I got. I was 24 years old, and was on a car trip by myself on Thanksgiving weekend.
See, the week before Thanksgiving my sister's husband left her. She was not eating, not showering...she was completely broken by him. My husband couldn't get out of work so I took the opportunity to drive up during the corporate holiday.
After spending a few days with her, I was driving my tiny Geo Metro back to Georgia. She kept calling me while I was driving and I was so worried I didn't dare not answer. I also happened to find the one slight hill in all of Indiana and my car, which normally would struggle to even hit 60 mph, was going a mystifying 70 mph in a 55 section. While I was on the phone. With out of state tags.
SO yeah there was no way the state trooper who saw me wasn't going to not give me a ticket.
On a happy note, her husband leaving her helped spur my sister to go into therapy. She is now remarried to a much more mature guy, has a more positive view on herself than anyone in my family, and is a pretty happy and healthy woman.

I drive to Indiana for work every day. Can confirm, there's one hill in the whole state.
