Forgetting or ing who you are? (OC hunts legendary bountys series)

This is my take on how Jonah would react when killing or catching the different legendary bountys that rdr online has enjoy!

It's not easy going back to the life of a merchant when your name also appears on the list of bounty hunters available to do jobs, and it's even more complicated when the police requesting your services knows your past life as a son of a gun.

No explanations or extravagant words, he placed in my face the poster that had the description of the outlaw who wanted to be captured or killed just as I was going for my fifth spoonful of stew in the bar of Saint Denis. I sighed knowing that telling the officer that I did not accept contracts so often was a lost cause and would not make him reason, I finished the stew and after thanking the bartender I started to follow the instructions to the place where my target was: a man named Philip Calriel, who after committing a couple of crimes, had retired to live in a wild way, possibly related to the night folk who prowled around the area where he used to make his camps.

I dont like alligators, I always had a bad feeling around swamps where this animals where usually spotted, and the fact I saw one gunslinger getting rid of a body by feeding him into one of this predators made this bad feeling around them even greater. There were a couple of freaks of the night that I avoided easy enough while I was searching for my target until I spotted him in the middle of a small land part making dinner just for him. I stood in a corner leaning against a tree while patiently waiting for him to finish eating; it took a couple of minutes for him to realize he was being watched by someone other than his crazy friends.

"Oh hey there partner! I gotta it that you are very sneaky! You got me real good mister"

"Well I'm just here to bring you to justice but, of course, I can wait for you to finish your food"

"You want to try a little bit of this old timer? It's really good"

"Thank you! Not too much people take this situations so peacefully as you did! I could have a bite".

I do not know what he may have added to what he was eating but after two tablespoons of his dinner I felt bad, while I was ing out I tried to reach for my lasso to tie him up before closing my eyes but the effect was too strong for me to even move...

When I opened my eyes I saw a valley that stretched as far as my eyes could see and Charlotte was standing in the middle of that valley; Without thinking I tried to stand up as best I could and tried to hug her stretching my arms as much as my arms allowed it. Charlotte didn't turn around when I touched her

"Sorry for turning you into a monster darling" she said turning his head slightly

"Charlotte?!?! What are you talking about? I'm here! My love, I'm here, what monster are you talking about?"

The hallucination stopped in the middle of the last word I said. Suddenly I got up to find myself in the same swamp and next to the bonfire where I first saw Philip, I heard voices coming from the nearby trees. It didn't too much thought to realize that Philip had left me to the night folk to be killed while he ran away. I shot the first man who came across me accurately in the face with my LeMat and two of his colleagues companions suffered the same fate as I ran as fast as my legs allowed me. I wish I could turn back time to when this hauntings were so much easier.

After half an hour of searching I finally found Philip trying to get on his horse, I grabbed his foot and pulled him towards the ground making the animal and his rider to fall into the floor.

"I trusted you"

"Oh you are so naive"

"Shut up. If you wanna play dirty fine I'll play dirty too"

"I'm not Philip sir! He is no more! Im a new man a new citizen and I demand to not being arrested"

"Good trick but poor timing to say it when you are already tied up"

"I'm not that stupid bastard that weared fancy clothes! I'm a night folk, a killer of man and women, the terror of-"

"I said shut your mouth"

"You wouldn't get it.....thinking you are someone else just because you have his lifestyle...but then when everybody leaves you you find out that your identity was a lie all along! People just used you to achieve their goals when your destiny was to be free! In the wild mister....in here the people change to what they really are"

"I know what you are talking about"

"Oh do you? What? Did you moved from the big cities to here and found out that it wasn't as pretty as you imagined?"

"No.....I know because for a time I lived the way I wanted....but people like you, outlaw, forced me to this lifestyle again"

"Then why dont you just move to another part of the world? Why do you are still here?"

"I was born here....I'm descendant of a native tribe I cant just walk out from United states and begin a new life! I dont know how to do anything else that doesnt involve some kind of shooting or stealing or ride through a desert!"

"You can buddy...look at me I was somebody in the high places of society until I killed someone and ran away to find myself"

"What do you say old man? Could you release me and go on to live your true life?"

"Shut your mouth Philip Calriel....save breath to your hanging"

"One day you'll--!"

"I will regret this..." - I said before looking at the city in front of us while it was getting more and more closer - "next time, in your chats with the officers, to tell them something they dont know"

I saw two kids playing outside of the police department and I couldn't stop ing our time together with our children, Charlotte. I hoped you would be here to tell me what can I do besides killing and capturing people.
