Dres with Lou (One-shot!)

A.N: AYO they back in town, they back in cuteness, that's right NEW LOU AND JONAH ADVENTURES!

Lou looked sadly through the window watching Jonah work hard in packing everything up for the travel, she especially had her attention in his clothes, old and almost falling apart. That wasn't a good look at all, not for a trader, not for her boss and not for her....acquaintance.

Trying to snap back at her work at counting the supplies, her mind constantly drifted toward the clothes of Jonah, the ugly clothes of Jonah, the bad impression that the clothes gave Jonah and so on. No activity nor action made those thoughts go away, even when she was getting a little upset about thinking in someone else, she promised herself to only think in Clara Louise Costlow from then on so why was it so hard to not think about how that old man dressed up?

Sighing angrily and standing up from the chair, Lou screamed annoyed to Jonah, making sure he listened every word:

"JONAH!!!!! GET THE HORSES!" And so she stormed off to her personal chest and picked up at least 300 dollars from the money she had been collecting through the weeks, mumbling random words as she did that

"Alright? I'll be back in no time but...what is going-?" Jonah stopped abruptly whatever he was doing

"We...we going...!" Lou didn't find the words to describe her plan "Just...Just do it!"

"Ooookay! That's...well that was not what I was expecting..." Jonah giggled at the way Lou talked, he felt she was too nervous to say anything else

Lou came out of the house with the money in her hand and dressed up in her most formal clothes she still had, without saying a single word more about where they were heading Lou got on her horse and gestured Jonah to follow her. The old man stayed quiet, just smiling entertained by the strange behavior of his employee, occasionally looking to the trail ahead, trying to guess where they were heading.

At one point Jonah matched the speed of Lou horse and stared at her.

"Sooo, what's with the sudden urge for going...wherever we are heading to?" Jonah asked intrigued

"We are going somewhere because...I wanna buy something" Lou didn't looked back at him

"Oh! Shopping day huh?" Jonah said laughing "Yeah I can see the money in your pocket, but still I don't get what are you going to buy"

"Does...does it really matter Jonah? I just want you to come with me!" Lou avoided a couple of travelers that were ing by in the contrary direction, not stopping for nothing

"I appreciate the fact you want me to come along but is just so weird of you to not...well...describe to the smallest of details what you wanna do!" Jonah screamed as he slowed down to not crash against the travelers, getting more intrigued by the strange responses

"I know! But just for once, one time Jonah, don't ask questions and just stay quiet"

"Ouch, no need for that..." He touched dramatically his chest "Right in the feelings"

The journey was long and by the time they spotted Saint Denis in the distance the sun was already setting down in the horizon, Jonah seemed reluctant to enter the city at first, showing clear signs that he wasn't suited for big towns such as this one; Lou had to convince him that they would get out of Saint Denis before Jonah could blink, only then the old man mumbling some curses finally entered the city.

Luckily for them the streets were pretty empty that day, not much people was walking around and the shops seemed to be mostly empty as well, Lou at all times was checking up on Jonah so he wouldn't "accidentally" run off to his horse and flee the city as fast as he could. "Everything is fine Jonah, just follow me and ignore everything else" she repeated at least four times before they stopped outside of the Tailor Shop.

Jonah stayed outside while Lou entered and talked to the tailor, after a few moments of waiting to make sure that his partner was going to be busy for a while inside the old man searched in his pockets until he found a lighter and a cigarette; Jonah enjoyed that smoke break happily, there weren't many chances to take those breaks anyways without Lou there to caught him; a couple of bad coughing later and Jonah stopped smoking the cigarette to catch his breath, the pneumonia was a hell of a disease for him and the fact he smoked from time to time didn't help at all, "eh what the hell, if this doesn't kill me a shot in the head will" was what he said to himself constantly, his regular excuse to keep doing it.

After a couple of minutes Lou opened the door and searched for Jonah, who was caught in the act of hiding the cigarette

"Oh come on, you know you can't smoke! Is bad for your lungs!" She took the little object from Jonah's hands and threw it away

"I'm going to die soon anyways from literally anything! At least like this I'm sure what it is going to do it" Jonah giggled raising his arms

"Then not when I'm here" Lou looked at him in the eyes

"You were technically inside though"

"Jonah enough" The lady said before grabbing the old man and pushing him inside the store

The interior was full of mannequins in different poses with different kinds of clothes, the perfume in the air hit Jonah like a slap in the face disorienting him for a couple of seconds while Lou grabbed a bunch of clothes and continued pushing the old man to a dressing room.

"Hey, hey, hey, can you stop for a second!" Jonah resisted to enter the room

"No! You are going to enter there, put this clothes on and come out so I can see if it fits you!" Lou stopped pushing Jonah and blocked the entrance

"Hah, hah, hah very funny now let me out" he laughed sarcastically

"Not until you get rid of that old clothes you have!" Lou felt as if she finally said what she waited for weeks

"Ooooh so this was what all this secretive trip was for! I'm not getting rid of MY clothes, not now or never! For as crazy as it will sound, each piece is a part of me!"

"Jonah...you are going to grab this boots, this hat, this jacket, shirt and put it on with this pants, we gonna pay the tailor and we will be out of this city!" The fight sounded like if a mother was ordering her son to put clothes on

"What if I don't wanna huh? You gonna stay at the door forever?" Jonah crossed his arms

"I'm going to....to...AAAAAH JONAH JUST PUT THE CLOTHES ON IS NOT HARD!" She exploded

"You know you sound cute when you explode like that right?" Jonah teased her

"I'm going to quit working for you if you don't dress up!" She frowned

"No! No you are not going to leave because..." Jonah grabbed the clothes out of her hands defiantly "Because stay here!"

It took Jonah one minute to put all of the clothes Lou had selected for him, coming out of the dressing room a little weirded out.

"Well? How do I look? I feel like a clown..." He looked to his reflection in a nearby mirror

"Is because you didn't put the jacket very well on top of the shirt, hold still" Lou smiled happy of her choices

"Ugh fine...but do it quick"

"Quit the squirming already" She giggled

"Fiiiine" Jonah obeyed

"There...see? You look even a little fancy like that"

"Can I change now?" Jonah gazed at his old clothes

"Nope, you are going to get used to this outfit all the way back, consider it your training because I'm not going to see you anymore in some poor condition clothes okay? It makes me sick" Lou stepped back and looked at his look one more time before exiting the store

"Your daughter sure loves you mister" The tailor waved goodbye at Jonah as he was leaving

"She...she is not...oh forget it, just do me a favor and ban me from your shop forever" Jonah's cheek got red after hearing those words

"No I will not do that sir...enjoy your night" the shop owner said laughing

Jonah sighed for a brief moment before exiting the store. The words from the tailor were still echoing in his mind:

"Your daughter"

Jonah shook his head in denial, no, she wasn't his daughter but dammit was he starting to love her like one.
