⋆I wanted to make this blog and video because of how much hate I get personally from this subject, but especially by how much I see others get shamed. I am a witch and I love god. Who knew a statement of love could be cause for so much targeting, hate, shaming and harassment. Many of us who are now witches were raised to believe in a god, often the Christian or Muslim god, and this love for many of us may never leave. I am one of these witches. While I was raised Mormon and fully know it’s a cult from personal experience, my love for the god I grew up with has never left me even to this day. Because of this I get condemned from both the Christian and Pagan community. Due to this reality I live with, and know many live with, this video and blog are intended to open up a discussion on how this is a prevalent problem within the witchy and pagan community.⋆

⋆A witch is not a sinner, regardless of what your Bible or Quran tells you. We are mere humans and have no right to decide who can and cannot have a connection with whatever god or goddess that exists. We have no right to dictate what practice someone chooses to engage with so long as it doesn’t harm anyone including themselves. It’s simply not our place to dictate someone else’s experience with the divine however we choose to connect. We are each individuals and so our practices will be individual as well.⋆

✯Heed Not Others Opinions, But Your Intuition✯

⋆You do not have to be a Christian to believe in the Christian god, just like you do not have to be a Muslim to believe in Allah. Furthermore you do not have to be a witch to believe in magick. The truth of the matter is we decided what works best for us within our practice. If it resonates true with you then you should follow your heart. It’s true some people may not understand you or even shame you because your practice may seem impossible to them, but they just simply don’t define you, you define you. The most important thing to within any spiritual practice, or blending there of, is how you feel when you practice. If it makes you feel good, inspires you to live a better life and puts a smile on your face, no one can take that away from you unless you let them inside your mind and heart.⋆

✯Those Who Cast Judgement Are Mistaken✯

⋆There are countless of false prophets in our world, throughout all religions, and yes even including the witchcraft community. Anyone who tells you that you must practice or worship a certain way, and when you don’t you’re wrong or invalid, are only spreading fear, misinformation and judgement. God is love and all those who declare otherwise are poorly mistaken. Us as humans cannot define deity and divinity for anyone else but ourselves and all others claiming one size fits all is missing the individual and their sacred connection to God. Some choose not to believe in god, or other gods entirely, and this doesn’t make them wrong; it just makes them human. All practices, faiths and combinations thereof are valid paths to walk upon so long they don’t harm anyone else. that universal language is love and there are infinite paths to get to the same destination. If yours happens to look a little different that does NOT EVER make you wrong, that just makes you who you are.⋆

:book: The Word Of God :book:

✯“But You Must Follow The Word Of God”✯

⋆I’ve had countless people tell me I cannot be a witch who loves god because of what the Bible and 10 commandments say. The Bible states witchcraft is a sin and the the commandments state you cannot worship or work with any other gods but “the one true God”. However, and I’m really perplexed by how many people forget this, the bible and commandments were not written by god himself, they were written by the hands of man. If god wrote these with his own hands, and we could prove this was fact, then I’m quite certain 99% of the world would follow one religion. However this is simply not the case. These religious texts, including the Quran, were inscribed by the hands of man. Sure they may claim that God or Allah told them what to write but it still doesn’t change the fact that these sacred texts are nothing more than the words and laws of man. They were not created to make everyone equal and have since been outdated because of the time period in which they were written. So what does this mean? It validates that anyone can believe in these gods even if they do not follow the Bible. I’m a witch, not a Christian, but I will always have love in my heart for the God I was raised with. This is something no one can take away from me, and of course no one can take away from you. Oh, and that god created us with the gift of freedom, so follow what makes you feel free as this is your god given right.⋆

⋆The last thing I wanted to cover is the fact that no one has the power to define your relationship or connection to god, it doesn’t matter who they think they are. Our relationship with the divine is an intimate personal relationship between said individual and God, Allah or however they choose to connect to divine source energy. That goes to say that even if an individual defines their connection as having no connection to the divine or a god, they are just as valid as those who do. Shame on anyone who claims they are the ones who define that relationship for you as it was never their place to decide. Any authority figure or even your peers who think they know what’s best for you are simply in the wrong. So don’t listen to their background noise and focus on the spiritual connections that help you feel safe, ed, loved and excited to be alive. The choice has always been yours.⋆

❈Thank you so much for reading and watching about being a witch who loves god. I get so much hate both from mainstream religious people as well as practitioners within our own pagan and witch communities for this stance. I know many of us have been harmed directly by the doctrine of these religions and choose to stay the hell away. However the reality still remains that we are all different and no two spiritual paths or belief systems will be the same. You define yourself and practice and anyone who says otherwise has no right or place thinking they know what’s best for you.❈
