#HCHODD - :feet: An Introductary Post :feet:

Greetings hatchlings!

I've been seeing quite a few introduction posts, helping us to get to know the people behind the houses. I thought that would be a good place to start in becoming an active member my own.

This may get a little lengthy, so thank you to all who stick through it. Now, on to the actual introduction.

:herb: A bit about myself :herb:

I'm Valkyn, alternatively you can call me Val or Lindel, or any other nickname you can think if.

I am an alter in a system, but the only one who really interacts much here. I'm very open about it, because it feels very awkward and dishonest to me personally to tell otherwise. Even in person I accidentally use plurals whenever I'm front. Which my system mates finds very amusing. I am also Elvenkin and a hunter in spirit.

I am always happy to provide help if possible, and I love to open people's perception to what is so often hidden, forgotten, or overlooked. I just enjoy making friends, really.

:skull: Why did I choose the House of Darkness? :skull:

Originally, the house quiz placed me in earth - and it was quite accurate in that. Earth and darkness are very equal parts of my spirituality. It was hard to choose. For quite awhile I sat on the sidelines, waiting to see if it was where I belonged.

Nonetheless, I felt drawn to the House of Darkness from the begining. I felt I would end up here. It is where I believe I have the most to offer.

While I am highly connected to earth, I am less practiced in it this lifetime. However, I have plenty of experience with darkness, and I am equally ionate about it - What I want is to use my wisdom and experience to help others learn to see in the dark, to bring clarity and encourage self-exploration.

I'm also very drawn to the dire wolf.

:feet: My Path :feet:

I do not follow any religion, but Celtic and Norse mythology play great roles in my spirituality. I work with Cernunnos, and my own demon, Raim (Raum). I am very connected to the hunt and the cycle of life and death.

There are many aspects of my spirituality, so I'll use visualization to help me sum it up. Its also just more fun that way.

I would say my path is very untrodden - a forest lit by the setting sun as stars begin to show in the sky. Pixies and other fae lurk behind branches and bushes - darting balls of light and creeping shadows, as they skirt around in the corner of perception.

The journey is within. All the while a darkness holds me in an embrace, without any tangible form. It is always there. In the distance there is a great stag, looking to me with a strong, welcoming aura; beckoning me further within.

:fallen_leaf: How I Practice :leaves:

I am very creative. I love to express and explore my spirituality through art, writing, making tarot spreads, and other crafts such as carving and making my own grimore.

I am skilled at divination, and to an extent, visualization. My biggest strength is probably looking into the dark, and conversing with it.

I do practice curses and binding spells, though rarely. I am also interested and working on potions, elixirs, working with herbs, and related things.

I hope you've gotten to know me and how I fit into the HOD a little better! Thank you very much for reading through all of this, and I look forward to working with this house and creating some content of my own.
