I am back to bring you day 18 for 31 days of Samhan! We will be focusing on the Dark Moon and how we can celebrate via a Dark Moon Ritual.

The Dark Moon is the phase of the moon just before the new moon. This is when the moon casts no light from the sun making the night sky much darker than normal. This phase is often associated with 'negative' or 'darker' forms of magick but can be utalized for an array of needs and magickal workings.

:new_moon: Dark Moon Symbolism :new_moon:

The Dark Moon has a vast array of symbolism but comonly is associated with protection due to the moon being essentially black at this time. The Dark Moon is a very powerful phase to craft or cast protection magick of any kind.

The Dark Moon is also a fantastic time to cast completion magick of any kind. This means if you wsh to resolve something in your life this is the time to give it an extra magickal boost to help you manifest what you desire.

Lastly the Dark Moon is a time for cleansing before the next new phase. When things are finished we need to clean up the mess and the Dark Moon is the perfect phase to not only clean and cleanse in general but to quell any chaotic energy that may have been stired up during the moon's cycle.

This is a ritual template you can use to perform your own Dark Moon Ritual. Feel free to edit any of these steps to meet your own needs. This layout is easy to follow especially for beginners so anyone can perform this ritual. Keep in mind this ritual can be performed without materials if ever necessary.

Prior to performing the ritual make sure your body is clean. This is commonly done via a ritual bath or bathing of some kind. If this isn't possible it's also common to cleanse oneself with sage, incense, or a spray of some kind. Here is more information on Ritual Baths.

After cleaning oneself off go ahead and clear/cleanse your space for ritual. Pick up any mess in the area and wipe down whatever necessary. Having a clean space will provide the ritual with a clean ad clear physical foundation.

Before moving forward make sure to ground out any energy you no longer need. Be it the energy from the day or mundane life let it leave ou so your mind is clear and focused for the ritual at hand.

After grounded cast your circle however you feel most comfortable. There are infimnate ways to cast a circle so the possibilities are endless! Coomon ways to cast a circle include wands, athames, candles and one's fingers.

🕯Call Upon Deity🕯

Once the circle is cast call upon any guardians, guides, gods, goddesses, spirits, ancestors or who ever you work with into your circle and sacred space. Ask these beings to help aid you in your ritual.

Once your spiritual companions are with you take the time to meditate with them and focus on the out come for the spell or magickal working. Ask your guardians/guides/etc to aid in the magickal working so that they may add extra energy to help manifest your desired outcome.

Once the intenton is clear go ahead and perform whatever magickal working you choose for this exercise. Whatever it may be keep your intention in the forfront of your mind visualizing how you wish the outcome to be. As you perform this know your guardians/guides/etc are aiding your working making it evenn more powerful.

After your rite is finished go ahead and celebrate with a cakes and ale ceremony. If you are performing this ritual alone take the time to offer whomever you invted into your circle some cakes and ale. Comune with these beings and give thanks to them for aiding in your rite.

Once you have taken the time necessary to celebrate with cakes and ale go ahead and do divination of your choice. Many believe that the Dark Moon is one of the best times to perform divination, especially when looking forward to the next lunar cycle, for guidence and clarity.

After divination feel free to work on any crafts you may have and ask those within your circle to help infuse your craft with their extra magick to make your craft even more magickally charged. Whatever you chooe to craft make sure that you have all you need in order to craft it prior to casting the circle and begining the ritual.

After all this is completed take the time now to dismiss deity and whomever may be ing you in your circle. Express gratitude for all they helped you with during your ritual and make sure they know they are always welcome in your space!

Once those whom were in your circle have been dismissed close your circle. This can be done in any way that is most comfortable for you. Commonly circles are closed in the opposite ways that they were casted.

After your rite take the time now to ground our any excess energy you may have picked up durning the ritual. Return this energy to the earth as an offering of gratitue for the land in which you performed this ritual on (eve in you did so inside the house). Take the time now to write down your experience, eiter in a book of shadows or journal, for later reference.
