{The field journal of Nigel Evans}
(June 16th 2003)
this will be my first solo field mission by myself into an uncharted area of the Ukrainian wilderness I have been overly interested in Greek culture for many years. Ever since studying it in my younger Schooling days.people wanted to call it a stupid fib or some sort of children's dream that you could never prove any of the mythical creatures of Greek legend could ever be true
I have several points in my head to prove otherwise that they were completely full of poppycock. But this is supposed to be a journal for my research and not supposed to be for my silly thoughts even if it is bringing me some amount of comfort
but as you read correctly this will be my first solo mission out into the great wilderness to pursue my hopes and aspirations. I am more than prepared with multiple things besides my wits of course. I have to traveling guides with me but perhaps I should have brought more. I'm trying to keep some amount of positive thinking even if that too has no scientifical gain in all of this.
the men and I are heading out for the evening to scope out a plan and to scope out territory for us to check out there is a denser Forest where we've decided to settle I may even write a map if I feel like we're going the right way so far it's one of the more uninhabited areas
Wish me the best of luck on my investigation
Yours truly Nigel Evans-

we have discovered of a rather interested in area of the Ukrainian wilderness instead of the dense cold I expected from this terrain we have found a very interesting warm patch. perhaps it's some kind of area where thermal heat is coming out of the ground but I haven't seen anything like that yet it's like some sort of different world separated from everything else around it.
No wait that sounds somewhat ridiculous but I come so far I'm not about to turn back yet. this could be a once-in-a-lifetime discovery but nobody else in my field had ever considered.
the area has a bit of a more tropical feeling to it something similar to Greece itself maybe I'm just having one of those exhausting dreams where everything looks so much greener. the thought had occurred to me that I haven't been sleeping much recently because of my over fascination with the region. But how could anyone sleep when there was so much excitement about. I've decided to take some samples at the local fauna hopefully to bring back for more research in my tent when we set up camp for the night.
would it be ridiculous for me to start thinking that I was being followed and not just by strained animals that I've never seen before. No that's ridiculous there are no maps of this area nobody should be here we should be the first...
