apply for the curator position as

well as those who will be chosen.

I thought I would talk about “curatorship”

with all of you today. What being a curator is

like, your responsibilities,your application,etc.

There are many important information in the

Curator application post however and you should most definitely read everything there!! This is just my personal take on tips

These are my tips and advice that might be helpful to you

Before applying

► Please consider your choice of applying to become a curator of the community. You will have to spend time on this job. We do have a quota and set amount of mod actions that you have to meet every week. We do not wish for you to not take this seriously.

► Will you have time? I know some of you are in school and have a lot of activities you have to attend. Others have work or just don’t have much time in general. Please don’t overwork yourself and reconsider applying if you have a strict schedule or you barely have any spare time. We don’t want any of you to feel pressure and stress.

► Being a curator of the community is not only for the title itself. If you apply only for the title because you think it is cool or you have a higher rank of other then you are wrong. Everyone is equal in TAHA. Even if you are apart of the staff team. Do not think about abusing your power. You will get punished if you break our guidelines no matter what your rank is. After all, staffs are just with a little bit more power

Application

► Be honest with your answers. Write your application with your honest opinions and thoughts. It is not necessary for it to be overly detailed and serious with paragraphs too long, just to make it appealing to us. (No worries if it is long paragraphs and detailed though!! They’re perfectly fine I’m not saying they aren’t. I just don’t want some people feeling pressured to think that they have to make it long and overly detailed.) Although, that doesn’t mean you should make your application too short.

► Be yourself when writing your application. Making your personality appealing to us while being professional with your application.

► Don’t lie or copy from others. There’s no reason for you to pretend to be someone who you’re not. Be yourself and have confidence!

► Use proper grammar and punctuation. When writing your application, answer it civilly, it shows maturity and that you know how to spell. It is something that is actually given quite a bit of attention to.

► Don’t be a suck up. If you want to get in, don’t suck up to a staff member. It’s just rude to use us to get something you want. Be kind. Our community wants curators that can be respectful, kind, easy for people to look up to and easy to speak to. Be respectful to others!

► When answering questions make sure to answer all of them. You need to answer all questions, otherwise we have no idea how you'll handle the important curator work, and then we can't pick you due to that.

Moderating

► When you do get into the staff team, don’t be shy around us! Be kind,friendly and respectful! We will treat you the same way. Be yourself!

► Communication is very important. Moderating TAHA is a team work. You might have a lot of questions at first. Please don’t be afraid to reach out in the staff chat or to a staff and ask! We won’t find you as annoying, actually the opposite! We will be more than happy to be able to help you. I’d be very glad to explain how things work, I’m sure the others feel the same way. Don’t think you are doing your job alone, if you have questions, ask us! If you know you would be offline/inactive please notify any one of us

► If you find anything you find concerning, things we can improve on, things you have questions about, don’t be shy about telling us! We can all discuss together! If you have any event, contests or challenges ideas, you are more than welcome to tell us! It will be very much appreciated.

► Start your job off by featuring posts you believe is feature worthy. Disabling posts that are against the guidelines. Moderating chats. Most importantly, be as active as you can! Though we don’t want you to overwork yourself!

► If there’s a problem you cannot solve, notify another staff. They will be more than happy to help you and teach you how to deal with situations you don’t know how to.

Some things you will be able to do as a curator consists of;

-Disable a post or Public Chat

-Delete a comment or chat thread

-Add, move, or remove posts on the Front Page

-Add, move, or remove posts in Topic Categories

-Approve Wiki submissions

► Please don’t be biased!! This is very important. Even if they are your close friends, if they break the guidelines they would have to be punished!! You have to report them if they violated the [guidelines]. You must follow our [guidelines] as well. You being a curator won’t give you an excuse for anything. You are still a member just with a bit of power others don’t have. You cannot use your powers against our without a valid reason.

► There are situations where you can’t deal with by yourself, please go to the staff chat and report it.

► The most important role of being a curator is taking care of our beloved community. Curators have enough capabilities to provide leaders a helping hand in moderating the community. Observing what goes around here is one of the things that a curator must do. If they see something that goes against the rules and [guidelines], be it posts, chats, or comments, take the necessary actions. However, as said before if you are unsure about it, ask another mod for help and discuss with them.

That’s all! Of course when you first become a curator, we will explain everything to you but if you still have any questions don’t be afraid to ask!! That’s all the basics you’ll need to know about “curatorship”. I hope this post helped you not only in this community but many others as well.
