She is Layton's niece and looks up to her uncle as a father figure, her parents are mentioned but not much is known about them. Like luke, layton also met amber when she was a baby, though Amber Is years older than him. When Amber and her parents spent time in London, layton would be amber's supervisor and guardian when the parents are not around, at a certain age, amber and her family had to move, which was farther away from London. In the timeline of "last spectar/specter's call" Amber was dropped off to the same London, she had to go along with layton (and Emmy a short while after) promising to be careful incase of danger, a bit after "unwound future/lost future" she went back home and said she'll see layton again, there's a possibility she was in "detective agency" looking older.

Amber's personality is loving, caring, enthusiastic and loves to make friends with everyone. Layton is only protective of her when nesasery to him and will stay polite at times.
