All we know about the game is it’s on the Switch and Layton looks roughly the same age. I think the fact that Luke wasn’t shown is a telling clue.
My theory is that it takes place a few years after the original trilogy. Luke is probably going to be at least 16. Or maybe he’s going to be Legal Luke. Ha ha Overall I still think it would be before Katrielle was born.
As for villains, I think we are getting some new ones. Hopefully a silly one like Don Paulo and a serious one like Descole.
As for the plot…I have no idea. Maybe Layton travels to where young adult Luke lives, and then some villain is trying to convert everything to steam power. Who knows.
Anyways that’s all I have to say for now.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but at the end of Unwound/Lost Future, Luke travels to America. Then we get a cutscene of the Professor sitting at his desk with a letter.
With those things in mind, I feel like this game will take place in America (unless it's already been revealed that the game is taking place in London xDD)
And, again I could be completely wrong, but it would be cool seeing the professor travel to a different country again :eyes:
