Both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask seem to always be among the most popular games in the series. Ocarina of Time has often been regarded as "the best (Zelda) game of all time" although I have noticed Majora's Mask sometimes taking its place, or being ranked higher than it at least on various lists. Many people claim Majora's Mask to be their all time favourite game and to actually prefer it to Ocarina of Time, to the point there almost seems to be a somewhat rivalry between the two siblings.

I think they are both outstanding games, albeit in their own right, in different kinds of ways really. I still personally prefer Ocarina of Time to Majora's Mask, but only slightly, as they are both my top two, favourite Zelda games, and I only have a top two list really. I can still however understand why some may prefer Majora's Mask to Ocarina, although I couldn't understand as much really if anyone were to dislike OOT but love MM, as OOT was the foundation of MM of course, with very similiar gameplay (aside from new form mechanics and time mechanic of course!), although of course they are drastically different stories and settings.

While everyone of course is entitled to their opinion, I still feel though that sometimes a lot of people try too hard to not like/criticize Ocarina of Time, more than they should, just so they can stand out and not be seen as having the cliched, predictable choice. I once saw this article for example titled "25 things everyone gets wrong about Ocarina of Time" and literally virtually the whole thing was just nitpicking at the game, rather than being real, actual flaws, with some basically being made up even. 25 was definitely a bit excessive as well, for any game even, let alone a virtually flawless one (as is commonly considered anyway, incouding by myself!) Big surprise, I just found out that this was the same guy who wrote the article unfairly claiming that Twilight Princess was without any challenge at all, and that most of Ocarina of Time's bosses were too easy, making me sense that these are perhaps his two least favourite Zelda games. Not that theres anything wrong with that in itself, but to me it just seems rather unfair to harshly criticize these games in such a way, without giving proper reason, simply nitpicking and dismissing each one rather harshly. Surely these can't be the only Zelda games he actually dislikes, out of all the ones there are out there? People are entitled to their own opinion, but he just seems rather narrow-minded and hypercritical to me, not to mention dismissive, and that does not make for a good writer, who actually analyses and explains stuff properly. A lot of people don't seem to want to claim it as their favourite anymore, claim its overhyped/overrated, will claim the likes of Majora's Mask and Windwaker to be far superior, and while of course we all have our different opinions, I can't help but feel a lot of people who criticize OOT the way they do just want to appear more unique in their opinion rather than actually dislike it.

But anyways, we are all different with all different opinions and perspectives at the end of the day, like I can't understand why people laud Windwaker as much as they do, but like I say, we're all different, with individual eyes/minds/tastes etc.etc.

What about you? Which game do you think is better; Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask? Feel free to vote away in the poll! ;D
