Chapter Two of my Batim story!!!

Okay I may have released Chapter One of this story two days ago in honor of Chapter Three's release...buuuut...I'm bored so imma post this! If you haven't read the first chapter OR the Prolouge, I suggest you do so. But if not read on...I ain't stopping you ^^.

                                                                        Chapter Two: The Studio

        "My dear niece,

It’s been almost a lifetime since I worked on cartoons with everyone. Eight years really slips away doesn’t it? If you’re still around town, come to the old animation studio. I have something I want you to see. If you’re confused as to why I’m writing to you now after so long, I have been very busy lately and I wanted to apologize for not coming to any of your birthday parties, or anything of the sort. In return of this, which me and your father have talked about this topic for years now, I leave you Drew Studios. I would like you to go there and look around. I’ll write to you as soon as I can.

           Your Loving Uncle, Joey Drew."

I read the whole letter aloud . I was in shock. He and my dad left me the studio and I never knew!?

       "DAD!! CAN YOU COME UP HERE A MINUTE?? WE NEED TO TALK AGAIN!" I shouted and he came running up the stairs in a heartbeat. He was looking at me with a confused and angry face and the letter from Joey that I had in my hands.

        "What is it? You know that you’re missing out on YOUR party, right?" He asked and he held a worried expression on his face.

       "Dad, how come you NEVER told me about the plan you and Uncle Drew had ever since I was a kid?! It was my DREAM to work at the studio but OWNING IT?!? This I never expected...why me though dad? You know fully well that Mia-" He cut me off, some aggravation on his face.

       "Mia doesn’t know Uncle Drew like you do! You were very close to him and we wanted to surprise you with this!" He stopped for a moment, realizing he was shouting a bit but not fully yelling at me. He took a deep breath and sighed.

       "Look, Runaway...the point is...Mia works just as much as I do. I’m not saying you don’t but I figured since you got this letter, to maybe quit your old job for a little while." He looked at the letter again after speaking and back at me.

       "What about the pay?!" I asked in surprise.

       "Please...just check it out...how about tomorrow, I'll drop you off and you can take a look around...okay?" He asked and I thought about it.

       "How about I go check it out now...so it’s over with?" I asked.

       "No...you have a party you should be attending to right now...not visiting old animation studios." He replied, looking stern again.

       "Daaaaad...pleeeaase? I'll do more chores when I get back and you know I don’t lie. I also will throw an after partyy!" I begged, giving him my little kid/puppy eyes which he couldn’t say "no" to.

       "Aggg...fine. But when you get back. You will do those chores that don’t get done. Got it?" He asked.

       "Deal!" I exclaimed and I ran to my closet, then to the bathroom to change out of the dress I was wearing and into a black short-sleeved shirt, light tan khakis, and my black combat boots. I pulled my hair back up into the messy bun it was in and I put my glasses on. I walked out of the bathroom with my dress and I saw my dad staring at me.

       "What?" I asked and he just smiled.

       "You look so much like Joey with those glasses." He said, but then shook his head and I smiled.

       "Well I better get going. It’s almost almost sundown. " I said and walked downstairs.

       "STAY SAFE!" My dad called out after me. I knew I’d be fine and I walked outside.

       "Where are you going?" I heard my friend from behind me.

       "DO YOU HAVE TO DO THAT?!" I shouted and he just laughed.

       "But seriously. What are you doing? Where are you going?" He asked and I didn’t look at him.

       "I'll be back as soon as I can." I said, getting on my bike, and I rode off to the abandoned animation studio. Which wasn’t as abandoned as I thought.

Oh my God that took forever!
