Is music a form of art? What is art? Art is a way of self-expression. Music is an expression of emotion and feelings; hence, why so many songs are all love and romance, hardships and heartbreak. There is no stronger emotion than love, and heartbreak is the easiest emotion to relate to. In a way, most musicians are taking the easy way out. Why not write music about the grass, or the wind, or just something anyone else would hardly notice? It doesn’t have to be positive, but why not show the hardships in a positive way? Cartoons can show the hardships of life in a positive light, to get people to laugh but also think deeper about certain things. Music is like drawing, both are forms of art. So, where are music’s ‘cartoons’?
