2020 Redraw - Homesick

Hello, all!

I am taking a moderation hiatus currently, but finished something today that I just HAVE to post. I think its a little fitting for the new year, and new decade, maybe!

I've been feeling really inspired lately, and this absolutely gorgeous human being is probably largely to blame.

I really feel as if this piece that I did back in 2018 is one of my more unsuccessful ones.

Honestly, for a long time, the decision of retrying the concept weighed pretty heavily on my brain. It just looks messy, and weird. It turned out okay, but I know I can do better.

In the end, it was too much for me to up trying, and I redid the piece. And thankfully, I really love how it turned out!

By the by....

You know, I drew the original piece as vent art of sorts, because at the time my home life was really falling apart. I titled the piece Homesick, because I was really missing all that had been lost in the dissolution. I'm sure Avery misses their home planet too, and all they had to leave behind.

This piece remains a very heartfelt one to me, and hit a bit of a sore spot while I was making it again. It reminds me of the times when I was at my absolute worst, and about everyone who stayed by my side throughout it all.

I leave this here with you all today, though, not with a heavy heart, but with a hopeful one. I'm going to be opening up a new chapter of my real life matters very soon, and things are really starting to feel like they're turning up for the better.

I just hope you all stick with me not only through the bad, but through the good as well. :^)
