we do not have to completely stop using fonts, but preferably make a non-font version of whatever you’re making. it isn’t that hard, it’s only takes an extra 2 minutes??
based on everything i’ve read, it becomes ableist when you willingly make something w/o a non-font version and refuse to change it if people bring it up that they can’t read it. that’s clearly offensive and makes you a very crappy person.
pls lol just be considerate of other people, some of y’all are showing your true colors today :worried: just because u can read the fonts despite a vision impairment like poor eyesight / needing glasses doesn’t mean that, universally, everyone can read it too. that just sounds stupid
and btw.. an apology please? nobody is going to let this go until you acknowledge your ignorance and work on it, instead of disabling posts that are supposed to be educational

thought i should clarify: a staff member was harassed for having fonts in their but had NO FONTS in their bio. the member continued to harass them even after they changed it. my blog still goes to address the problem of using fonts or not so it is not completely irrelevant, but people should know the whole story
my point still stands about the fonts and how to compensate for those who cannot read them. i do not agree with the comment aurai made about her poor vision and being able to see the bio, because not everyone else can. i feel that she needs to respond and speak up. not everyone is ableist for using fonts. someone becomes ableist when they refuse to make another version of their work without the fonts and is rude about it when people ask.

all in all i think 1.) aurai needs to apologize, 2.) staff needs to make the whole story known so that they don’t get attacked anymore. if you want people off your back, then say something.
3.) i do not what aurai said, and 4.) i understand that the staff member was harassed for something so benign and it shouldn’t have happened. however, aurai’s comment is still offensive and the talk on fonts is still valid
