Byul's guide to manips:this shadow effect

Shadows + Line

1.Add a new layer and set it's blending mode to "multiply".This is where we're gonna do the shadow.

2. Select any airbrush (I used airbrush trapezoid 20%) and paint the whole canvas black but don't make it full black.

3.Adjust the layer's opacity and tap on the eye icon to hide it (this step is not necessary cuz I actually do it to avoid confusion so it's your choice to hide it or not)

4.Add a new normal layer.

5.Use the bucket or brush tool and paint the whole canvas black,full black this time.

6.Hide the layer and again add a new layer.

7. Select the ruler tool at the above right and select the straight ruler icon,by using the felt tip pen soft brush make a line on your manip using a white colour.U can make the line horizontal, vertical etc according to your liking.

8.Unhide your full black layer and merge the white line layer with it.

NOTE:make sure not too make your line too big or too small plus it's not necessarily to make your line at the eyes,u can make it at the mouth or just anywhere.

The Effect

9. Tap on the magic wand tool and tap on the white line we made earlier.

10.Hide the line layer and go back to the shadow (airbrush) layer and unhide that.

11. Go to filters → adjust colour → hue,saturation,lightness and set the lightness to 100%.U can set it again if it's not bright enough but don't make it too bright maybe around 30-40%.

12.Go up to the selection layer,tap it and tap clear layer.After that go back to the shadow layer.

13.Go to filters (again) → blur → gaussian blur to blur the lines a bit,it may be a bit noisy.Set its radius between 5-10px. (U can also use any blur brush and brush at the pixelated parts)

Extra ( Glow )

14.Add a new layer and set it's blending mode to "add"

15.Colour pick the eye colour and use any airbrush and tap it at the eye,if one of your eyes is under the shadows u can do this as well but don't make it too bright.

NOTE:this step is actually not necessary so it's your choice to follow it or not.I recommend using this effect with dark,evil, mysterious or monster kind of themes.
