SA History Project(Leadership Team and Old , I Need Your Help!)

(I know this is long, please read the whole thing if you can, otherwise feel free to skip to the second paragraph.)

When I ed here back in 2019, around the time The Swift Life app was shutting down, this place was a vibrant community. Partly because of people who are moving here from the SA app and partly because how well the stand alone SA app had worked with iPhone s, there were active s from different part of the world here all day long. Without knowing any Swifties in real life, I felt that this place gave me a sense of belonging. We discussed fandom theories, joked about personal lives, and occasionally updated me on how the modern world works to that socially isolated me. Despite having many , people come and go, and even at the busiest time, the number of active at this place is always limited. Although I had always wanted more active , the small number of here also nurtured a tight community where all the old kind of just know each other. However, things changed in 2021. After the founder of the Amino, Narvii.Inc sold the app to MediaLab, the app has seen drastic reduction in quality. With the removal of the stand alone Swifties Amino, IOS s now have to deal constant bugs, inconvenient navigation, and worse layout. This is mainly because the amino app was never built for the IOS s. The sudden removal of the SA app locked some old iPhone s — who were never on the main app — out of there own s. After that, we experienced a series of backend and the istrative issues. The frequent outage of services made old inactive, which allows trolls to visit here with little resistance, which then further discouraged to return. With less , other were further discouraged from coming back. I have a feeling that the new owner of this app is much more concerned about milking money of out it than actually serving the s who are enabling their business. Long story short, between the summer of 2021 and now, we lost tons of old . Thinking back now, we had so much fun when this place wasn’t like this. I am glad to see that we are finally getting some active new , but I am still very concerned about the future of this place. I think what made this app stands out is that sense of community, and I hope that regardless what will happen to this app, we will stay connected.

Anyway, all these is to say that I want to document all the big and small things old about this place. It’s sort of like a history book about this place, but I need your help! Please provide me with anything you think is worth writing down about this place! It could be the “generations” of leadership and curator teams dating all the way back to the birth of this community, welcomers, titles we used to give out, name of each level(they have been updated a couple of times), fan theories, a post that you ed, a community challenge, a quiz, famous chatrooms or things you discussed in there, or even an old that everyone knows. Just to give you some ideas, those are ones I am thinking about, we used to do those Rep Journals (ex: The Rep Journal: January 2019), or Hanna used to do those Behind The Song posts (ex: Behind the Song: Forever & Always), or this Rep clothing challenge (ex: TWINING), or Song of the Day (ex: Song of the Day 2/23/19), and ts7 theories (ex: I am freaking out), or the Today In History I was doing hoping to keep people active during the pandemic, Nikkie who went to the Lover Secret Session, Getaway Lounge and Rita, Youtuber Lauren Lipman was here briefly (back when she was famous, our leadership made a post about it)…etc. Old , please let me know if you are interested. I can share a google doc where you can put in all your suggestions in chronological orders, or I can open a private chat for those who want to discuss about the project. I will probably compile everything as a pdf, a webpage, or a wiki on amino. Please comment down below if you want to participate!

I don’t know how useful this is going to be; maybe a new member wants to know about our history and how we ended up here today; maybe someone wants to revive some fun traditions we have left behind; or maybe one day old would just read through all these, feeling nostalgic about the good old days.
