Marco finally finds himself living in the Mewnie Castle with his best friend Star Butterfly for the summer. However one night, she goes missing.
Marco reveals the bad news to the King and Queen and Star realises her captor's true motive.
The trio of Moon, River, and Marco search Star's room for clues and Star dips doooown.
Moon and Marco learn of Eclipsa's intentions and are allowed to her. Star receives a call soon after, the two being scared for her safety.
The duo continues on their journey to find and rescue Star, now arriving at the forest. Star herself is losing control of her emotions fast, and finally snaps.
Eclipsa attempts to earn sympathy from Star and Moon explains the cause of her pain, finding a use for her anguish.
Moon and Marco begin to run out of time, and begin to frantically look for the place containing Star. In the meantime Star and Eclipsa's conversation goes south.
Marco and Moon enter the shack to rescue Star and everything goes horribly wrong. Moon must decide between the crown and the life of her daughter.
Star racks her brain in an attempt to try and heal her kith and kin, finally deciding she needed to take matters into her own hands. In the meantime, Eclipsa gets her first taste of royalty.
Star decides to take matters into her own hands and try to take down Eclipsa. But Marco objects. In the meantime Eclipsa forms a plan of action for when she inevitablely sees the princess once again.
Marco gathers his emotions and decides to take action in order to get back his friend. Star begins to feel guilty but stays determined through the night. Moon in the meantime makes plans of her own.
Star and Marco make their way towards the Butterfly castle for the final showdown with the Queen of Darkness. Moon tries to make it in time to make a difference.
Star dreams of her future, from nightmare to a dream come true. Marco goes off to find River and gets an unexpected reaction. Star then performs a ritual and makes her decision for Marco and their friendship.
