Second writing commission is done! This one was really cute and fun to write and I definitely had fun getting into Cara’s mind for a bit in this one! Thank you so much to Miahearts for commissioning me to write your OC’s! I hope I did them justice and you enjoy the story!

Just ignore the lesson and everything will be fine.

The droning voice of the math teacher was something Cara Ordonia Lynn Thomas despised. As if she already didn’t hate math she also had to deal with the fact that she had the most boring calculus teacher in existence. Cara had the urge to throw her pencil up and try to stil it into the ceiling tiles like she often does in her other class but thought against it.

This was her only pencil and this drawing wasn’t going to complete itself.

It was a drawing of her mom - well one of her moms. There was something just aesthetically pleasing to the eye about Jackie Lynn Thomas that Cara couldn’t help but draw. She had the cool air of confidence around her and for some reason people always gave her the second glance. She was something out of a movie.

The pencil stroked against the paper, her hand being gentle as she drew to not mess up the drawing. She kept her head down and could sense that she would be getting in so much trouble with herself later when she had to do homework. Cara barely understood half the lessons as it is.

Cara wished she could pay attention but she just couldn’t. There was so much going on in her mind, she could hear little voices and she couldn’t control them. The only way she has ever learned how to control them was when she drew. She expressed her emotions on paper. It was easier that way. If she focused in math, she would get too frustrated. She would end up crying and having a panic attack. She would end up hating herself even more than she already did.

Cara’s grip on the pencil tightened.

Crap, she thought bitterly. You aren’t even paying attention to the lesson and you’re still going to have a panic attack over the fact you’re a failure.

It was tough words to be telling yourself, Cara knew that but she couldn’t help it. She debated asking to go to the bathroom and going to see the counselor again, or calling her moms for some calming advice but thought against it. It would be a waste of breath on her part. No one would want to hear those problems anyway.

A small paper airplane landed on Cara’s desk suddenly and the girl blinked in surprise seeing it and she looked down at it. It was folded neatly and Cara glanced around the room but no one seemed to be paying her any attention.

She glanced up at the red head, old hag of a math teacher she had, knowing she probably won’t notice any of this happening. Cara silently opened up the plane and saw neat cursive handwriting. Who even wrote in cursive anymore? Cara’s eyes squinted a bit. It was really pretty handwriting, that was something she had to it. It took her a bit longer than she would have liked to it it to decipher the small paragraph on the note but once she got it she felt her head spin.

Cara,

I’ve noticed you’ve been having a bit of trouble in calculus recently and it seems to be frustrating you. Not to mention Ms. Skullnick doesn’t exactly seem too happy with where you’re standing in class :/

(Yes, she wrote out that emoticon.)

So, I want to try and help out. I thought maybe afterschool the two of us could get together and work on calculus together. I have a pretty high grade in the class and would hate to see you be retained in Calc and have to retake it again. I know the class is a hellhole.

Anyway, tell me if you’re down after class and we can make plans and I can get my lesson plans for you ready.

Love, Kelsey.

Kelsey… Kelsey…

Honestly, at first Cara couldn’t recall a Kelsey but then she saw one girl look st her. She sat in the corner of the room and when Cara had looked around the room their eyes had locked and she felt her entire body tense up. Kelsey. Right.

The cute one.

It was sort of weird that Cara had forgotten about her. Then again though, she has been trying for a long time. Kelsey Adams was new to Echo Creek and ever since her first day she has been extremely infatuated with the girl. Cara wasn’t sure why. She’s spoken to her once because she said hi.

Cara had the urge to say no though. Even that hi that she had said that one time was full of nervous energy. Cara wasn’t the kind of person Kelsey liked. Plus, who’s to say she was even gay. She was certainly very pretty. Any guy would be lucky enough to have her.

Even if none of them would treat her the way that Cara would treat her her. Cara couldn’t say no to the offer either though. It was a chance to be alone with Kelsey. You only got this opportunity once in a lifetime practically and Cara planned to make it count. If her parents had ever taught her anything it was to never let a pretty girl get out of your reach.

Kelsey was too damned pretty to let go of that easily.

Cara began to write on the same note that Kasey had sent flying her way and wrote in her own messy handwriting: Sure I’m down. We can talk more about it after class.

It was a simple response. Cara considered writing out “Love, Cara”, but ultimately decided against it. Even that would be too flirty to say to someone she barely knew. Kelsey made it work. Kelsey was cute. She could pull off g off with the word Love.

Cara attempted to fold the paper in the Kelsey had with her neat airplane before failing and just folding it into a square and asked some people in a hushed tone to send it to Kelsey.

High school was funny. People loved the idea of breaking rules. They would do anything for a sense of adventure.

The note got to Kelsey and Cara kept trying to draw but couldn’t think straight. She had the urge to draw Kelsey. She didn’t know why. Cara had never really drawn someone with glasses.

Cara glanced over her shoulder at Kelsey.

She’d also never drawn someone blushing over a returned note.

Short, sweet, and wonderfully done. Also, side note... I'm one of those weird ones that still use cursive (but it's not beautiful in the slightest lol).
