I ain't sure what we got for today, I'm hoping for more in mewni because the last episode, i really liked learning more about how the other dimension worked.
It feels like 9/10 we start at Marco's house, so I'm not disappointed... Yet. If it started at the school, I would be.
.... Okay... Starting off strong with the questions, let's go.
1: How'd he get that chair in the tree?
2: How is the chair staying in the tree?
3: What's in the cup?
4: Where'd he get that lunchbox?
5: Is that a pinup of Ludo?
5.5: If yes, DID LUDO SIGN IT?!
General comments: If Ludo signed that image, then he has good penmanship. Buff Frog really likes peanut butter, which means Buff Frog either buys peanut butter at earth or they have it in Mewni. The sticky notes say, "Buy more P. B.", "Call mom" and "SART HATES W̳O̳O̳D̳" which is interesting to note, I guess.
Buff Frog and I are having the same reaction O.O where did that big ol eye come from?

It's mewdipendance day! Finally, a bit of lore and a holiday no less! Imma enjoy this a lot!... Also, for anyone wanting to know roughly what day this episode took place...

History of mewni with Star isn't very informative. Mewmens came to a land, wanted to live peacefully (with corn (why corn???)) And monsters attacked to the queen (I'm guessing Solaria) made super soldiers and took over the land where the monsters were living. She skipped past the fighting and the important bits.
"We feast after we reenact, the great monster massacre!"
Oh, so you knew it was a monster massacre, and you know monsters are sentient too!?....
I suddenly like Star less.
Star is very hyped for the "bloody battle" to commence... This did air on the Disney channel, right? Not adult swim? I'm just checking.
Also, Marco finally brought attention to the eye, so we'll probably get an answer for it.
"It's the all-seeing eye to let monsters know that the royal family is always watching. It's not actually watching you that would be weird."

And what is Toffee reading? It doesn't look familiar and I checked the magic book of spells, I didn't see a page like that. He's obviously reading about wands but there's not much to go off. Did he steal it from the mewni castle library? How? What other information is in that book?
Also, great pause me, Ludo is melting.
LOOK AT TOFFEE!

Toffee and Buff Frog are like "ummm???" And Ludo does decide to get rid of the option but... Why was it an option in the first place?
Also, we get to see what book Toffee is reading "MEWNI: history of royalty" which I imagine has less spells but more information on the queens and their wands/how the wands work but that's my guess.
Another thing, based on which hand he's using and which hand is missing the finger, I'm guessing Toffee was strictly right-handed at one point, but because of what happened he learned to use both hands and became ambidextrous.

Toffee... I know he's an idiot but you don't have to be so blatant about your plan to overthrow him.

He just looks and acts so much like a child in this scene. Someone get him a booster seat.

Alright, well, I can tell which side over prepared and which one came over thinking this was going to be a fair fight.

Star just gave the Warriors weapons and one of them a horse.
Now she's taking away the "weapons" that the "monsters" had, saying they should use their claws and teeth???
Did the mewmens steal the weapons or did monsters decide against using them???
Oh, before we go back to the castle.
Marco pointed out how this seems unfair and left Star to stew with the idea.
Now back to the castle, we hear Buff Fog call his coworkers comrades which likely means he's Russian? Which is really cool!
If I had a nickel for every time a bigger guy was Russian, bald, and works under a person in a suit... I'd have two nickels.
Which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice.
So, just because Toffee replaces Buff Frog the guy thinks Toffee will replace everyone on the team? Nah. He just doesn't like you (unfortunately).
Toffee putting his hand on Buff Frogs shoulder. "Are you finished?" With so much disinterest but thanks to the pause he looks so concerned. I love they way he's written and animated. There's so much life put into him, it's little things like this that help sell it too. You feel that he's shady and can tell he's up to something, if you call him boring because of how serious he is you are reading his character wrong and need to rethink how you consume media. (Imo)

Man said that in the calmest yet most malicious way he could. He's looking at all the monsters as he says it like every single one of them have an idea of what it was like. Being a septarian though he could have BEEN there. He could have seen it first hand, and might not have been an adult at the time. It's entirely possible he was a child and saw what the other monsters went through.
Toffee just took the remote and Ludo acted like he didn't....
