hey y'all, before you read this i'm just gonna slap out a trigger warning, cause Star goes through an attack in this chapter. anyways, I hope you enjoy!

After Star and Marco finished their spaghetti, Mr. and Mrs. Diaz came home from a music festival they were attending. They brought Marco a cute little skeleton mask, and cute white and pink boots for Star. She placed her dirty plate into the sink before taking her new boots up to her room. While Star was organizing a place in her closet for her boots, a gentle knock sounded from her doorway. She turned around to see Marco with a smile on his face. "Hey.." he began, leaning awkwardly on the doorway. Star rolled her eyes. "Ew, ok what do you want?" She teased with a laugh, closing her closet door. Marco walked into her room, sitting down near the end of her bed. Star plopped down next to him, looking at him in curiosity. "Is it cool that I got you the Melatonin, I-I didn't mean for it to seem rude I just wanted to help you out and-" Star rested her hand on his shoulder, causing him to cut off his sentence. "Hey, it's alright, I'm happy that you're actually concerned for me," she chuckled. "What I'm trying to say is, well, don't be sorry. And...thank you." She smiled genuinely, examining his face for a reaction. Marco looked at her with something she couldn't quite detect before smiling back at her. "Ok then, thanks Star," he nodded, standing up. "Do you wanna watch a movie later or something?" He asked her, with his reply being a shrug. "Sure, why not?" She sighed, throwing her back down on the bed. "Ok cool. Bye." Marco mumbled before leaving and closing the door behind him.

She let out a yawn, rolling on to her belly. She pushed away Marco's odd behavior and closed her eyes. Glossaryck came back to her, along with what he told her before lunch. She groaned, knowing that he was right, and that at some point she had to start her magic training. She wouldn't it that to him though, unless she wanted the magical creature to go on and on about how he was right and such. She looked over to where she'd left her Magic Book of Spells for the past 5 weeks. Maybe....she could learn a simple spell? Something that wouldn't be......destructive. She got off her bed, kneeling on the floor next to the book. She reached her hand out before hesitating. 'Nothing bad will happen nothing bad will happen nothing bad will happen,' she repeated in her head over and over again. She shook her head before ripping open the book cover. She felt her breathing quicken along with her heartbeat. Fear was setting in, then the flashbacks. Oh the flashbacks; blood, smoke, and tears. Star quickly scooted herself away, tears running down her face. She curled up into a ball, rocking back and forth...and then everything tuned out...
She was in a world without sight, but heard all the screams. She heard the sound of blood being vomited up, she heard the end of her parents lives, her mother's unfinished last words. She was swirling in a glitchy pool of black, full of fear and confusion. Then her sight returned, showing her dying parents grasping for her. She screamed, but no sound came out. "Star! Star! Star!" The screams got louder and louder...
"Star!" She was jerked away from the panic attack with the touch of Marco's hands on her shoulders. She was shaking and crying...what happened? "Marco..." She whispered, her voice weak, and her vision still blurred. The familiar scent of Mr. and Mrs. Diaz surrounded her, hugging her tightly. Marco's scent was closest to her though, and she began to calm. Began to feel safe. Her breathing began to even out and her eyes closed gently, the last of her tears falling from her eyes. Thank corn for the Diaz's, she didn't know what could have happened to her if she didn't find them.
