The character I have chosen is Sho from The Secret World of Arrietty.

Sho would like to read in the library, his room or out in the garden where he can get fresh air at the same time, he would mostly get his books from the bookstore but sometimes also the library. Sho would also prefer physical books and would slowly savour them, and he would read for escapism.

The books I think Sho would have or want to have on his bookshelf are…

1) The Harry Potter series- J. K. Rowling

I think he would have this on his bookshelf because it’s a way to escape reality and be in a different world and read about all the adventures Harry goes on.

2) Peter Pan- J. M. Barrie

I think Sho would have this book because again it would be a means of escapism and I think he would love fantasy books.

3) Felix and Zelda- Once series- Morris Gleitzman

(Once, Then, Now, After, Soon, Maybe)

A series about a young boy in the Holocaust, I think he would have this series on his bookshelf because he would enjoy the story with all its ups and downs.

4) The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime- Mark Haddon

I think Sho would have this book on his bookshelf because it is a murder mystery and he would find it very interesting and would want to know what happened.

5) The Wizard of Oz- L. Frank Baum

I think he would have this on his bookshelf because again it is a fantasy book and a way to escape from reality.

6) Alice in Wonderland- Lewis Carroll

I think Sho would have this book because it is a strange book and has a lot of fun and creativity within it.

I also think Sho would have a lot more books to read to escape to another world.
