Blue Spinel was made after Pink Diamond’s ‘shattering’.. Blue Diamond wanted to keep a part of Pink Diamond alive. Since she couldn’t find Pink’s Spinel, she assumed the Pink Spinel went missing. So Blue Diamond made an attempt to recreate Pink Diamond’s old playmate, her Spinel..

But it didn’t go the way Blue Diamond wanted, the Spinel came out defective. Instead of being bubbly and cheery - The spinel was quiet and shy even ..distant? The Spinel wasn’t playful either, she was rather gloomy and pessimistic… she had similar eyeshape to Blue Diamond. And her gem was a deep blue instead of bright pink. This Spinel was more wise and grounded to reality, she became a member of Blue’s court and even a member of her counsel. Until Blue Spinel heard why she was made. This was before the diamonds found out that Pink’s Spinel was in the garden all this time.

”My Diamond.. why..?”

”My precious Pink, she had a spinel like you once.. well you didn’t come out the way she did… you came out blue and pessimistic.”
