The thing is...even though he used to fear growing up to avoid sugary food, he's realized as a young adult that he wants to make a few different choices, and they're not better or worse.

What's important is that they're respected.

She claimed to be willing to eat pizza and pie in older episodes too, but I don't know if she actually would have eaten here. She wanted the "together" and not necessarily the "breakfast." But considering she also broke from her usual anti-shapeshifting stance in this episode, maybe she would've!

Why was steven in snow day such a jerk? Like I know he’s basically an adult now but he could’ve at least done SOMETHING after they were snowed in

I don't think he was a jerk at all. He did realize the Gems wanted to connect with him after he was pouring so much into his projects, but they were trying to use stuff that isn't his jam anymore to do that, and it felt more disconnected instead of more connected. After he realized where this was coming from and THEY realized how their form of affection was making him feel, they DID spend time together and communicated honestly about what they need from each other.
