Spinel Enamel Pin

Rebecca Sugar posted this Instagram post and it got a lot of attention.

People were excited about a new enamel pin, but...

They only gave them out at the San Diego Comic Con party.

I really wanted to get one since, ya know, I collect stuff. I was hoping it'd become widely available the way a supposedly Momocon exclusive button that I paid a lot of money for popped up plentifully for a few bucks on eBay after being liberally distributed at SDCC.

But that did not happen. Seems like it really was an exclusive gift.

And when they started popping up on eBay, HOO BOY.

I just couldn't justify it. I saw two sell for over $200 and I didn't bid. That was way too much, even though I'm a very serious collector.

Then finally another one popped up on eBay weeks later and I watched it. Not too much bidding. It stayed low.

I snuck in and made a pretty high bid, but I didn't even reach my limit when time had run out.

Hooray I got one!

And it arrived today even though it was supposed to be Monday, so it arrived early!

Mine didn't come with the backing card. Bummer.

Hmm. I just put it on like that but I guess it should be upside-down, huh?
