Melanite redesign

Been on a hiatus for a while, haven't posted anything here. I've been busy writing my story for my gemsona.

Anyways, the purpose of this post is to show my OC's redesign. Well, redesign is a strong word since there's nothing really much changed to her clothes and all, I just added a mask to her homeworld uniform due to some problems I realized while writing my story.

So the problem is that, My gemsona work as an inquisitor in homeworld, and these inquisitors work in the shadows, away from the prying eyes of the public, but in my story, my gemsona showed herself to several gems along the way. So I thought to myself, "If they're supposed to be unseen then why does my gemsona showed herself to all these gems?"

That's where I realized there's a problem. So I added a mask so that my gemsona remain anonymous despite showing herself.

I needed something that not just fit her as a character, but also for the rest of her kind. So it dawned on me.. "Ballistic mask". They're a great addition plus the lack of detail gives total anonymity for anyone who wears them, so I just add it in to her uniform.

With that being said, I could never really see how my gemsona would look like wearing the mask so I just had to draw it out. So here's the result :grin:

Upon seeing this, I knew right away this really captures her character. Her personality and demeanor. Then my next step is to add in the lore for the mask.

So the lore goes, all inquisitor are required to wear the mask as to keep their anonymity intact even if they show themselves to the public, and the mask can be replace if they're damaged, but my gemsona chose to keep hers as is, hence the battle damaged marks from all the years of service to white diamond.
