Garnet Fusions

I decided to do a concept drawing of Ruby and Sapphire and every Garnet Fusion!!

Hard to see everything going on so...

This art is directly inspired by Grace Kraft's comic cover on the ongoing SU comic #16, where she did the same thing with Amethyst. (I did a redraw of that too, before I tried this Garnet version.)

(And when I tweeted it Grace Kraft liked my pic so I feel pretty jazzed about that.)

I drew this partly because I want to celebrate Garnet and all of her special relationships. We've just had a focus on her in the show's latest episodes, and I've always related to her for her self-confident, calm center and her ability to experience joy on her own , but these episodes highlighted how important all the connections are in the Crystal Gems, not just the relationship that is Garnet.

I :heart: her so much.

So anyway, this art took about 7 hours and I did it with Copic markers and a white Posca pen. The characters except Ruby and Sapphire are in a purple cast because I wanted them to be sorta more background, more shadowed. This was my first time drawing Sardonyx's hammer. :blush:
