So, an interesting piece of info I've noticed with gem's codes / names is their facet. If you've been following me for a while, you might a post I made on why I haven't given my gems a code. Here, November 2016
I'm looking at the su Wikia page atm, and from what I see, a gem's facet is where they're from.

amethyst was made in the prime kindergarten.

and Jasper is from Beta.
Jasper is a facet 9. We know half of her code/name!
Considering this, I'm guessing that the second part of a gems code is which hole they emerged from. (And where the hole is placed in the wall)
8xl is the amethyst just above our one, who is 8xm. They are right next to eachother, so their codes are very similar

I'm guessing they go from the top, with that being A, and continue downward. (Since our amy's hole is on ground level.)
The eight might also mean a bigger area, with X being the Y axis. Peridot makes me doubt that though.

Now, Peridot is from Facet-2F5L cut - 5XG. So she was made in the kindergarten in facet 2F5L, (on some distant planet ) and her hole is between 5XF and 5XH, being a 5XG.
Now, how come there's one thing they all have in common? What does the X mean?
Feel free to comment with ideas :'>
Also , sorry if this sounds like word vomit / if it was super obvious haha
