Hey there humans and gems, this post is an entry for an adoption held by :small_orange_diamond: HM b***k - lasagna, the character I'm entering for is moon.
Moon's backstory:
Moon is the child of an opal and a pearl. She wasn't supposed to happen, the opal and pearl had loved eachother for a very long time and on the occasion that moon had been conceived they had been experimenting with the human mating ritual, they hadn't expected it to create a child for them, they didn't think it would work for them they way it did for humans.
Soon after the opal began showing symptoms of carrying, that's when they realized what happened. Though they were fortunate enough that it was opal who had conceived as opal gem was on the back of her head while pearls was on her lower back, so opal could still work while carrying while pearl would've had difficultly just standing let alone carrying out any kind of task. Fast forward a while and soon these two lovers had their own little gemling, for the first few days pearl insisted on caring for the young moon while opal took a long deserved rest but soon it got to be too much for the pearl and opal being rested enough forced pearl to allow her to help care for moon. 6 months after Moon's birth her parents decided it was time for her to be presented in front of blue diamond (their diamond). After being presented to blue diamond, moon was taken from her parents and was sent to be studied by a few peridots. Three years later, after the peridots had determined that moon would work just like any other gem of her kind, she was given back to her parents (who had been imprisoned until the study results came in). Opal and pearl had promised blue that moon would follow all the rules and that moon would later become one of the best performing gems in blues court. This all came true but at an expense, moon would be punished severely for even the most minor mistake. Moon would grow up resenting her parents till she finds out that blue had threatened to shatter them if all they promised didn't happen.
Bonus: a sketch of moon and her parents (proof in background)
