Club Sandwiches for Amethyst

I decided to make these delicious triangular sandwiches for my favorite purple Gem to enjoy! Read below for how to make some for the purple Gem in your life.

Club sandwiches or tea sandwiches are classics for parties. They’re usually small triangular sandwiches with no crust, and they’re fun little finger foods to have around while you sit around and talk to your friends.

(Apparently Steven thinks feeding one to Amethyst, dish and all, is a good thing to do during chores. But I digress.)

There is no model sheet for this sandwich, so I took a look at it and guessed what it might contain. It looks like some kind of meat (but I used Tofurky), cheese, and lettuce or avocado in the middle. (I went with lettuce.) I decided also I should use mayo on the bread, and of course, it wouldn’t be complete without that olive. Ingredients assemble!

First I got four slices of bread and cut the crust off. The focus should be on making the bread square, not just getting the crust off. (I nibbled the crusts as I worked.)

Once you have four square breads, you can mayonnaise them.

Next, you want some cheese. I used two slices for each side and microwaved mine to get these cheese singles melty.

Spatulaed them onto two of the bread sheets.

The meat on Amethyst’s sammich looks like roast beef or something similar, so I’m using the hickory smoked Tofurky.

This also must become square!

There.

Now you’re ready to close the sandwiches.

The lettuce layer is stacked neatly between the two sandwich halves. I don’t know why there’s only one.

Then you stack them on top of each other like a little skyscraper . . .

Carefully cut into triangles...

(Honestly, it’s better to cut these vertically. You’ll thank me.)

And you have sammiches!

Add olives!
