I it like it was yesterday when I first met lapis...
It was about 400 years ago...
I had just arrived from across space into Blue Diamond's court from Yellow's.
"My Pearl..Take that gem over to me.." Blue Diamond spoke.
The blue pearl nodded at her diamond and walked over to me.
She bowed,and walked away making me follow her. Then I bowed. I was nervous,that's for sure. Would she make me change my diamond symbol? It's still yellow...I mean,I'm not staying here forever. Just for training,atleast I think...and hope....
I stood there..frozen as I stared up at the calm,quiet diamond. She spoke once more,
"Thank you,my pearl. Now....Beryl! You shall act as a pilot here. You seem to know your way around th galaxy well,not only that but you seem to fly the gem ships very well...so I am giving you an Amythest guard to guard you as you fly your ship and gems to other places for missions,trading,training,or other IMPORTANT purposes....is that clear..?"
I made a diamond symbol with my hands just below my chest and bowed as I said shyly,"Y-Yes! Of course...M-my diamond!"
I started thinking in my head. "MY diamond?! What was I thinking? She's not mine! Well,maybe for the next few hundred years..b-but...ugh. How am I gonna get through this!"
Blue Diamond nodded at her pearl,which then walked off not to far. She came back with a big Amythest Guard. She looked panicked about just as much me. I looked up at her and we stared. I didn't know what to say,but then she realised what was going on,and panicking,she said,
"O-oh! My deepest apologies m-my Beryl...!"
She crossed her arms,creating a diamond shape,just like I did.
"Uh,no need to apologize. I myself have done that before....thank you my Amythest Guard....!" I said,not really knowing what I was doing.
I mean,come on! It's PRETTY RARE for a gem like me,Beryl's to be exact,to have a Guard of any sort! Back with my former diamond,yellow,the closest thing we had were Peridots! And some,like myself,barely thought that they were good enough. We did treat them not to well,so I'm not sure how to deal with a new guard. Especially since if I treated them like I did back at Yellow Diamond's court,I would probably be broken for that behavior!
It was a scary thought....being poofed,or worse. Shattered? Broken?! Man,I hope I live for atleast a couple more thousand years. 100 years went by pretty fast on homeworld,so 1,000 years is like 10 years to those.....humans...
I nodded at my Amythest as we walked back to the ship. It was a nice ship. But nothing fancy like those BIG hands though..!
I walked into the ship as my Amythest followed me. This was the chance to get to know each other. And I took that chance.
"So..how long have you been living here..? On homeworld,I mean!" I asked
"I dunno...after I got poofed,I-" Amythest began
"You got poofed?! How,when,where?!" I said interrupting.
"Jeez Lousie! Uh..sorry,my Beryl. I don't anything before I was poofed,besides who poofed me,where,and when. It wasn't to long ago....only 810 years ago. I was attacked...by a Holly Blue Agate. She...she gave me a "punishment" that,I think,accidently went to far....and i was poofed." Amythest said,looking like she was about to cry.
I walked over to her and gave her a hug,and said," sorry...I shouldn't have brought it up..!"
She didn't repond,but I think she understood that I was sorry like I wanted her too. Then,I heard a knock on the ship door,and opened it.
A skinny,blue,and beautiful gem stood on the step. She brushed back a bit of her hair and shyly asked,"um...can I get a ride to Earth? I have a mission..!"
