It's with sadness that I have to note that actress Camille Saviola, known to Star Trek fans as the actress who portrayed Kai Opaka has died yesterday at 71 years old.

Saviola also made many movie, television, & Broadway appearances as well.

Her film debut came two years after Broadway bow, in Woody Allen’s 1984 Broadway Danny Rose. She also did roles in The Purple Rose of Cairo, Shadows and Fog, Betsy’s Wedding, and the Last Exit to Brooklyn.

On TV Camille Saviola made appearances on Remington Steele, Baby Boom, JAG, Some of my Best Friends, Saving Grace, Without a Trace, and Nip/Tuck. She recurred on both The Heights, Civil Wars, and Star Trek Deep Space Nine. Later she would appear First Monday, Judging Amy, HBO’s Entourage, & most recent credit in the series Younger.

This is a great loss to the Star Trek, Entourage, and Younger fans. Rest In Peace.
