While Mandalorians have Beskar and others have Phrik and Cortosis Weave, Tauriat found they were in need of a highly protective armour that could become used as standard across all military factions within the Supremacy. While graphene meshsuits had been commonplace for the past few centuries, they didn't quite offer the same protection against new enemies the Supremacy was exposed to.

Scirrus bodysuits are highly versatile, with many variations offering a magnetised outer layer to attach independent plate armour, or can be worn with plate armour or even leathers to provide additional "last lines" of defence to an individual. The dream is that if the future becomes war-stricken, every individual will be able to wear a Scirrus bodysuits as a basic form of protection.

Currently, due to manufacture restrictions, suits are available for commercial purchase and provided to military personnel.

• Material •

Scirrus

A fabric made of multiple layers of Graphene, blended with scipian atoms for density and corrus atoms for microcurrents, Scirrus is a rather thick and heavy fabric despite being malleable and soft to touch.

The scipian provides density and hardness to bolster the graphene's natural resilience, while the Corrus creates small electric currents across the surface of the fabric that absorb up to three quarters the energy of most energy and plasma weapons.

Scipian and corrus are both minerals only found in some planets of the Vrektan and Scorsei systems of the Tauriat Supremacy, and both are difficult to mine - corrus typically being brittle in its natural form while scipian is so dense that it can only be mined on an atomic level. The original of these minerals is difficult to identify, but research has suggested they both originate from the remnants of dwarf stars that may have been shattered in the region several eons before the current stars ever existed.

• Wearing •

Scirrus bodysuits are surprisingly heavy despite being virtually fabric, with the combination of graphene and Scipian giving them most of their weight. A full suit could weigh up to 30kg (66lbs), while doublethick variants could be up to twice that.

With such a dense material, it was hard for the suit to conduct heat from the outside in - but also difficult to conduct from inside out. Variations with "breath slits" exist, with these slits in the suit placed in different locations for each suit so as to avoid the risk of exploitation by outside parties. These slits typically enabled a location for body heat to exit, but it is, at best a band aid to the issue.

While it has a higher density and can disperse energy and plasma attacks with ease, the cloth is still flexible and wearers are not necessarily protected from blunt force trauma and bludgeoning damage. It is still highly recommended to add plate or other armour over the top to ensure best protection is attained.

The suit is designed and created to be form-fitting, as any loose areas present spots of weakness that enemies can potentially exploit. Suits are typically custom-made and tailored to an individual.

Flexibility

While most plate armour with similar density is rigid and can be cumbersome to move in, Scirrus bodysuits are far more malleable, with the flexibility of thick cloth. Once adjusting to the weight, wearers often find themselves to be able to access their full range of flexibility and agility.

Durability

Where normal underclothing tends to rip and tear under extreme stresses, Graphene is highly resistant to tearing, even from sharp weapons. While a knife may cause significant point bruising from an attack, it will not pierce or puncture. Indeed, with scipian's density being greater than that of Beskar, even beskar and cortosis weapons are unable to cause damage without an excess of hacking and sawing.

Microcurrents

While cortosis and cortosis weave are brittle, corrus is less so, especially when combined with other elements. The electrons within corrus atoms tend to jump between the atoms, creating a microelectric current that is effective at dispersing most of the damage caused by blaster weapons and lightweapons. These currents one the outside act as dispersal tools, and on the inside generate energy that keeps the wearer's circulatory and muscular system highly active.

Thus far, only the EFO Rifle range has been found capable of rendering the suit completely useless. While some weapons with enough force or time hacking and slashing acan break through, the layered Graphene and Scipian prevent most melee attacks from breaking through.

• Purpose •

Designed for Tauriat Special Forces, Scirrus bodysuits eventually spread to be in use by most Tauran Military and Agents active in Western worlds. They are available for commercial retail, but the price is rather inflated even beyond the high cost of making the suit in the first place.
