Guess what, Starfam?
It’s that time again where the guidelines have been updated in order to help this community stay amazing. Most of the rules have stayed the same but there is one new addition that I want to point out, as it is one we haven’t had before but a lot of people have done.
Posts saying “Omg thanks for ____ followers!” are no longer allowed.
“Omg what? Why?! I just want to thank people!”
We know, but the number of posts we see that are just screenshots of profiles thanking people for followers is honestly outrageous. I would guess that 1/10 posts is this.
Obviously we want you to be able to show your thanks, so instead of just a plain post saying “Thanks so much for 100 followers!”, consider doing something special such as an edit for a follower or having a Q&A, something to connect you to the people you’re thanking!
Clarification: Only posts that are screenshots of your profile are not allowed. You can post relevant SSO edits, Q&A, or anything creative etc to thank people. We just don’t want a spam of screenshotted profiles that anyone can see anyways.
I should also point out that the “Thanks for ___ followers!” posts will be disabled from now on.
to read all of the guidelines so you know what is and is not allowed!

Comment from curator Johanna Appleforest that you should all read:
”It's not about age that lets you post this stuff. Not even I'M allowed to post 'thanks for - followers.” s follow their own rules as well.
Also, why are we complaining that THIS community bans it when almost every single community bans it? I'm in 7 communities, and ALL of them, ALL of them ban these types of posts. Team Amino put this as a rule, and we must make sure we are following it. This rule is placed because once we get up to 20,000 people, too many of us will be posting this and it has no relation with SSO in general. We are a community of SSO, not a community of thanking for followers. Just imagine ing an art community and instead of seeing art, all you see is 'Thanks for - followers.” in the latest feed. It would be kinda annoying, if any.
I also want to know why people are saying they are leaving SSOA because of this rule? Almost all communities have this rule in place, and those who don't are not following Team Amino's guidelines. Yes, some rules are a little unfair. Yes, I used to make the same mistake as a young and I was upset when it was disabled, but I grew to accept the rules and enforce them.”

My friend, Alice West, made a thanks for 200 followers edit and when she posted it, a curator blocked the post.
I completely agree with this. It had become, honestly, extremely annoying seeing "Thanks for - followers!" litterally everywhere.
I cri
I have a question that I would like to have cleared up.
Why are posts from before this rule being blocked? I have a post from before this rule get blocked and i am confused on why. You didn't mention anything about the posts from before this rule and not everyone has the amino app so they would not have seen the NO thank you for ____ rule.
I have another question for you guys that should help you understand where I am coming from
How could we possibly have broken the no spam rule if we did not know about it, and that it was not a rule at the time, when we posted the thank you for _____ post?
