•Heya! Today im doing a tutorial brought to you by the Sketching Shetlands! How to draw horse legs can be sometimes difficult, so ive created a tutorial for you!
•This tutorial will teach you how to sketch/draw proper proportions and shape for horse legs. This is kept very simple so everyone may follow ^^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For front legs draw a circle to represent the shoulder. Using lines and circles sketch out the general shape of your leg. The line connecting the shoulder should be about half the hight of the shoulder. The line between the knee and ankle will be about the same length as the previous line.
Using the skeleton you've sketched draw an outline following your lines. Remeber to leave space between your leg and the lines. Make the leg slightly larger near the shoulder.
Erase your skeleton and add in small details such as the chestnut on the innerside of the legs.
The same rules as above apply to the rear legs. Sketch out your general shape as before but this time the line connecting the rear to the hock should be curved and about the same length as your circles hight.
Draw your outline, once again widening the leg near the top
Erase your skeleton and add your details!
Congrats you can draw legs! Hope this helped a little bit!
Thank you :heart: :heart_eyes:
Yup yup!
A well explained tutorial for the community to learn from, each step is quite short but that is not a bad thing-this allows the steps to be straightforward without confusing anyone who may get stuck with the long and complicated tutorials unlike yours. You have an incredible skill for art which many people including me have spotted in this, i hope to see many more in the future! :blush:
