Summoner Yuna [2013]

Con prep is killing me but not as much as this snowstorm.

It's cold out so I decided to do a small throwback to the closet cosplay I did for Yuna from FFX.

For this I used a blue pleated skirt from Goodwill, my graduation gown, and an obi I'd gotten at a flea market. Natural hair, although it was dyed.

This was my first time shooting on-location with a photographer where I had my own contract and it ended up being FREEZING, even for a day in the fall up here.

I had initially planned to walk into the water, but it was wayyyy too cold. But we got a ton of incredible shots that are still some of my favorites.

This was also the day I first met my good friend, favorite photographer, and favorite author: Matthew Phillion. He's the author of The Indestructibles, a series of superhero novels, and was doing photography under the brand of 16 Degrees Studios.

Would I do this cosplay again?

I actually already have! I've cosplayed Yuna three times, with both my second and third times being AAC 2015. I've upgraded my top a bit by ombre dying the sleeves, and I made the earring in my hotel room right before a shoot.

To close this out, I also got a few amazing edits from Sterling Arts, a nerdy graphic designer and giant sweetheart. Shiva is best summon :ok_hand:
