Zoey Stark Confirms That Her Name Did Not Come From Tony Stark

Zoey Stark sets the record straight.

Before she was Zoey Stark in WWE, Zoey was Lacey Ryan on the independent scene. When she signed with WWE in 2021, she became Zoey Stark as many independent talents take on a new name when they NXT.

Speaking to Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald, Zoey was asked if the name came from Tony Stark.

"I do like the movies, and I am a fan of Robert Downey Jr. It's one of things, where I'm not a big comic book person. I've watched a couple of Iron Man (movies) and I understand a little bit of what they do. The name does not come from Tony Stark. I gave them a list of ten different first names and ten different last names, they put them together and said, 'here you go," she explained.
