I was hanging out with the rest of the NSS. I was sitting next to Jack who had his charger out. My gaze went from his face, taking in his features such as the grayness under his eyes, before going to his charger. It was a strange looking one though. It looked like a E-liter but the barrel was something I’ve never seen before, and muzzle of the barrel had a weird rectangular piece on it with holes.
“You like it?” Agent 4 asked me.
“It’s cool.” I said bluntly. “It’s weird looking though.” He let out a chuckle before looking back at it. “That’s what the others said when they first saw it.” He said, holding it up. “What is it exactly? I mean, it looks like an E-liter but the barrels funny looking and there’s some kind of muzzle brake at the end.”
“Well it was an E-liter. But I had an engineering friend of mine modify it to my needs. The barrel I got from an old times sniper called a Barrett. It probably didn’t function the same but this barrel was heavy so that it would balance the recoil out. The muzzle brake also helps with that. I also painted it a winter themed camouflage pattern, given how we’re in a place with a ton of snow. I also had it so that the scope can be taken on and off. What makes this really special however, is that I had the laser removed.”
My eyes shot open at that. I heard it was severely against the rules to do such a thing, and anyone caught doing it will have their splatting license revoked permanently. He saw me surprise and reassured me. “Hehe, don’t worry kid, I’m not gonna use it in public matches.”
After breathing a sigh of relief, I pulled out my weapon. A standard tri-stringer. “Hmph. All I’ve got is this.”
“Hey now, there’s nothing wrong with using a standard weapon. I mean, look at the captain.” He said, directing my attention to Elizabeth who was talking to the squid sisters. “She uses an old fashioned hero charger, so don’t feel too bad for being basic.”
“I guess you’re right.” I said.
