This is Nomad! Back with another chapter of Splat Force II: Allegiance!
The previous chapter ended with Drift running off to find Ami. This chapter will follower that ending near the end. Before we get there, we must flashback earlier to see what our pink friend has been up to in this chapter.
This chapter is going to be a little shorter then the others and it will also contain some depressing elements so proceed with caution.
So without further ado, let's get into this!

"WE CAN'T LEAVE ZANE!!!"
A pink haired Inkling yelled as she she started to tear up.
"Ami, Zane is already gone! There is nothing we can do, we have to get out!"
A green haired Inkling yelled at her, trying to put some sense into her. Ami looked back at the flaming ruins and wiped her eyes with her arms and ran for it. The green haired Inkling, alongside a blue haired Octoling, followed from behind.
They ran over to a nearby hill and watched the ruins of the Once Great Symbol go up into flames. Ami, thinking that it was probably not worth it, decided to attempt to call Zane, she held onto her hope that he isn't dead yet, and surely enough...
"A-Am....A-Ami..."
He whispered, his voice sounding more quiet then it usually sounded to her.
"Zane!"
Ami cheered, feeling relieved that Zane was still barley alive.
"Ami.....I-I...I'm sorry..."
He said through the phone, the smile on Ami's face dropped within seconds.
"No, No Zane, don't be sorry. W-We're gonna get y-you out o-okay!"
Ami tried to assure, tears already streaming down her face, her voice tripping.
"Ami...Keep yourself alive Ami...Move on from me....You'll find someone new....someone who you won't l-l-lose....."
Zane muttered, his voice sounded as if he was getting weaker by the second.
"No! Zane please!"
Ami cried, her begging wasn't enough to change anything.
The roof of the ruins started to collapse and fall down.
"Ami....I-I.....L-Lo-"
The roof of ruins collapsed and fell apart, Ami losed connection with Zane.
"Zane?"
Ami called out through the phone, she got no response.
"Z-Z-Zane..."
P R E S E N T D A Y . . .
"AHHHH!"
Ami screamed as she woke up inside her nice, warm bed. Her small room was dark and messy, clothes scattered across floor. The pale Inkling clutched onto her blanket and buried her face into it as she silently started to cry.
The furniture was covered with dust as far as the eye could see: drawers, desks, even the legs that barley held Ami's bed. The whole apartment, not just her room, smelt just like her: foul and putrid. The lime walls were slowly decaying. The only source of light came from the small window at the right hand side of the room, opposite the entrance to the room.
After balling her eyes out for several minutes, she slowly removed her thick purple blanket and weakly climbed out of the bed. She didn't acknowledge the fact that she sleeped in her casual clothing rather then her pyjamas, pyjamas that she lacked. Her red zekko hoodie smelt almost as bad as her.
She walked out of her room. Ami wasn't walking straight however, her body was leaned forward, she was looking straight down. Her eye bangs stood out amongst her face.
The main room of the apartment was just as small and untidy as he bed room: the couch pillows were scattered across the floor, the kitchen sink was filled with dirty dishes, the lime walls were decaying like the ones in her bed room, the furniture was just as dusty as the ones in her room, her curtains were also closed in the main room and worst of all: the corners of her room contained some moss.
Ami walked over to the fridge at the top right hand side of the room and looked to see what there was. Unfortunately, there was very little to nothing in the fridge, with the exception of Milk, Milk that was a week expired. She sighed and took out the Milk, not taking notice of the expired date. She then went into the cupboard and grabbed an almost empty box of Calamari Mix and poured it and the Milk into a white, stained bowl.
Ami grabbed a spoon and put it into the bowl before taking in to the small dust filled table, the wooden floor consistently creaking, She began to eat the cereal. Upon finishing, she walked over to her messy coach and picked up her remote. She switched on the TV and put on a cartoon show about an Inkling/Octoling hybrid.
The episode last roughly half an hour, not including the small breaks in between. However, the effect of the expired milk started to take a heavy toll on her stomach. Feeling extremely uneasy, Ami got up, rushed to the door opposite the apartments entrance, the bathroom door, and threw up repeatedly in the toilet for five minutes straight. She felt awful.
Ami slowly walked out of her bathroom, her face was as white as a plain piece of paper. She knew that she had very little left in both her fridge and cupboard. She opened up a drawer next to the TV and took out an untidy wallet, which had lots of money inside. If she was living in poor condition, how does she have all the money?
She put on her sporty bobble hat before she walked out of her apartment, entering the grim, green lit hallways. Ami approched the creaky staircase and began walking down them slowly.

Eventually, Ami reached the bottom of the stairs and reached the black and white checkered floor that was the bottom floor. She walked out of the door and entered the outside world on Moray Lane. Two Inklings ed her and gagged at the scent, not that Ami even cared, she stopped caring since the incident.
She turned left walked down the streets, ing an allyway, both hands in her pockets. Random people started taking notice of her, looking at her dirty and unwell she looked. Upon walking straight forward across two cross-walks and turning one small left, she arrived at a small shop called:
'The Healthy Clownfish'
The second word of the name being the complete opposite of Ami.
She didn't have to open any doors: they would automatically open for her. Ami walked inside and quickly grabbed the attention of the Clownfishling that ran the store.
"Excuse me, ma'am, are you doing alright? You look really pale."
"Oh I'm fine..."
She lied, assuring him of the complete opposite before turning away from him and whispering once more.
"I'm fine..."
The Clownfishling raised one eye brow but decided not to call her out, he had to trust her for now. Ami picked up a small trolley from the side of the room and walked forward with it as she collected food. She picked up a large loaf of bread along with a couple cookies: to remind her of old times and how much of a child she was. She also picked up more Calamari Mix cereal for her.
Ami walked over to the Clownfishling, who still looked extremely concerned for her, and placed an order.
"Alright ma'am, this will cost ten fifty cash!"
He said as Ami gave him the cash, a large amount.
"Woah! That's a lot of money for a simple order like that, where did you even get the mon-"
"It's not important!"
Ami exclaimed, quickly cutting them off. She received the extreme amount of change and placed her orders in a plastic bag before heading out the store, returning back to her home.
Her return home was very much like her journey to the shops: people gagging as they walked past her, people taking notice of her health and all sorts. The bag was manageable to carry for her small hands, then again, there wasn't much to carry.
Eventually, Ami arrived back at the Apartment building. She placed the bag next to her as she opened the door. She picked the bag back up and walked towards the creaky stairs.

Upon reaching the top of the stairs, Ami carried the bag towards her door. However, things took a turn for the worse: upon approaching the door to her apartment, she noticed a small note on the floor that read:
'Eviction Notice:
Due to your lack of effort in looking after your apartment and not paying rent, you are being evicted from said apartment. You have twenty four hours to clean out your apartment. Apologies for an inconvenience this may cause'
Seeing this notice crushed her. Now she had to live on the streets. Ami walked inside and burst into tears, getting on her knees and holding her head in her hands, covering her eyes with her hat. Her life falling apart even more then it already was.
L A T E R T H A T D A Y . . .
Ami's apartment was almost empty, the only things left were those that needed to stay there: the couch, TV, furniture, among many others. Ami was done clearing her dusted desk in her room; she picked up her photo frames and put them into her bag. Upon reaching the last one: a picture of her and Zane at a carnival, memories started to flow back...

"Ami...Are you sure about this?"
The Topknot Inkling asked, watching the Rollercoaster sprint past them at super speed. Everywhere the light touched was consumed by colour. They were in Wahoo World after all.
"Awwww, are you scared, Zane?"
Ami teased, her pink hair flowing majestically in the wind.
Zane gulped as he saw several people who walked unsteady off the Rollercoaster, their facial expressions and movements screaming dizziness.
"A little...Have you seen those people? They do not look very well, and haven't you've just eaten?"
"Ten minutes ago."
She quickly responded
"That doesn't sound very good to go on a very fast ride when you've just eaten now, does it-"
Zane tried to tell her. He stopped at the sight of his girlfriend's puppy eyes and couldn't resist.
"But if you really want to go on, I'm not gonna stop you!"
"Yay!"
Ami exclaimed before hugging Zane tightly before kissing him on the cheek.
"I love you so much!"
Zane blushed after getting the kiss.
"And I love you too!"
After a hot minute, the couple walked up to the now slowed down Rollercoaster and got themselves sorted out, both being told to hold on to the grey handles.
"So Ami, have you ever been on a Rollercoaster before?"
Zane asked, his uneasiness was a complete counter to Ami's enthusiasm.
"Nope!"
She answered.
"Wait...you haven't been on a Rollercoaster before?!"
Zane exclaimed, feeling completely shocked.
"I thought you would have been on at least once before!"
"Nope, I actually haven't, this is my first time on one."
Ami responded, face still holding that massive smile. Zane had nothing to respond with; he just raised both eye brows.
The ride had begun and so had the anticipation. Within ten seconds, they had reached the first big lift hill. The couple both held each others hands as they got nearer and nearer to the top; Ami's face screaming excitement whilst Zane's screaming concern.
At last, they reached the very top of the lift hill. Everyone on the ride knew what was to come next: the very thing Rollercoasters' were known for. Everyone counted down from five...four...three...two...one...
W H O O S H ! ! !
The Rollercoaster speeded down the lift hill at bliztering speeds; everyone on board either screaming or cheering, it was easy to tell who of the couple was screaming and who was cheering.
The whole ride was two minutes of insane speed, full of large falls and twists and turns. Eventually, the ride had to come to an end as the Rollercoaster slowed down and reached the beginning. Everyone felt dizzy, including but not limited to Ami and Zane.
The couple walked off the ride, both not walking steadily. Unlike her boyfriend, Ami's stomach was spinning and the urge the throw up was stronger then ever. Ami reached the bin and without hesitation threw her guts up.
"A-A-Are you alright, Ami?"
Zane asked, holding his head in one hand as he used his other hand to pat her back.
Eventually, Ami stopped throwing up and her enthusiasm came back.
"Are you kidding, THAT WAS AWESOME!"
She exclaimed.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it!"
Zane said. He knew that talking about her recklessness would make her not feel good so he avoided it.
Ami looked at Zane and gave him the biggest smile.
"Zane, I just want to say thank you for helping me feel better. The past month has been one that I will always ."
She said to him, truly meaning it.
"You've helped me clear my mind of what went down a month ago with Drift. I felt like I was being selfish for not visiting him after his dad died but I knew he wanted to be alone. You've helped me channel my emotions."
Zane gave Ami a warm smile, the warmest smile he had ever given out.
"Anytime! I suppose I can thank you for helping me deal with family problems. You also helped me in dealing with my parent's divorce. I'm glad that I moved to Inkopolis, otherwise I would've never have met you!"
"I love you Zane!"
Ami said once more as her smile only got bigger.
"And I love you Ami!"
Zane responded before giving her a kiss on the cheek, not caring at the scent of her recently thrown up mouth.
Ami took out her phone and took a selfie of her and Zane, both smiling like they've never smiled before.
S N A P ! ! !
P R E S E N T D A Y . . .
Tears escaped Ami's eyes as she thought back to when she was just a careless, energetic teenager. She sniffed as she hugged the photo frame.
"I-I miss you, Z-Zane! I miss you so much! Why did you have to d-d-die?!"
She murmured. After almost a minute, she put the photo frame in her bag; a bag that was almost full from the blankets she put in. She walked towards the apartment door, taking one last look before leaving.
It was now approaching the evening, Ami walked out of the apartment building, carrying a large bag which held food, a blanket and a pillow. She turned left with the intention of heading towards the allyway but upon getting there, she stumbled across a group of Octolings standing at the otherside of the grey, wet, tight Allyway, all looking at her.
Ami placed her bag on the floor and approched the small gang of thugs, gulping out of fear.
"So...I've heard about your eviction, that sucks."
The gangs leader snickered, taking off his black cap; revealing a dark grey buzz-cut.
"Please! You've already taken so much of my money! Can't you just leave me alone?!"
Ami tried to yell, but yelling wasn't gonna work today to her dismay.
"Shut up missy! I don't give a squit!'
The gang leader bellowed, sounding genuinely angry.
"We know you stole some of our money! We were finally going to live in better conditions but you had to ruin everything!"
"I stole?!"
Ami yelled, getting more aggressive.
"YOU are the ones who have been stealing from me for the past cod knows how long! YOU are the ones who shamelessly stole some of my own resources and made me starve! And most importantly, YOU are the ones that have now made me homeless! If anything, I was trying to get my stuff back!"
The gang leader didn't say anything, how could he: she had a point.
"Dispose of her, now!"
He growled. A mohawked gang member approched Ami, his face looking both angry and sinister. The grin on his face said it all.
S L A M ! ! !
Ami right hooked the thugs cheek.
"You filthy piece of fish! Deirdre, get her!"
He snarled as the other four gang , alongside Deirdre went after her.
S L A M , S L A M ! ! !
Ami punched the faces of two of the gang before being kicked in the stomach by Deirdre.
"You are going to pay the price for fracking around with us!"
He exclaimed before looking towards two long, black haired Octoling men.
"Give her shell!"
B A N G , B A N G , B A N G ! ! !
Just as Deirdre had lost all patience and ordered the attack on Ami, two violent shots were fired. Neither of the shots hit the men. Suddenly, a green haired Inkling superjumped from the balcony of one of the apartment rooms and landed on the ground. The Inkling turned back into his regular form revealing that it was none other then Drift Evans.
"Hands off now!"
Drift yelled just before two of the men approched him. Without any hesitation, Drift launched himself at them.
S L A M ! ! !
Both his fists got a slice of action: one hit one mens stomach, the other hit the other mens teeth. The dark blue, mohawked Octoling laid on the ground, mouth holding his teeth; they felt both agony and surprisingly warm. The long, purple haired Octoling groaned at the punch in the stomach and tried to reach for his weapon, a pocket knife, but before he could do so, Drift round house kicked him.
B A N G , B A N G ! ! !
In a fit of rage, Drift shot at the two Octolings holding Ami; getting one in the leg and on in the arm. The black tentacurled Octoling feel to the ground, holding tightly onto his leg. The other Octoling pushed Ami to the ground after being shot in the arm. Drift ran up to the second to last of the men and grabbed him by the face and slammed him into the wall, his face despite feeling pain from the wall also felt extremely warm.
Drift looked down at Ami and smiled at her, trying to give her some positivity, which wasn't going to work out.
"Are you alright, Ami?"
He asked, offering his hand to help her up.
"D-D-Drift?"
Ami whispered slowly, Drift nodded at her.
D-Drift...Behind you!"
Drift looked back up to see Deirdre, the leader of the gang, pointing a squelcher at him
B A N G ! ! !
Deirdre shot at Drift and missed by a slight millimetre, his state of panic made him stutter. Unfortunately for him, Drift was not in a very good mood.
"Look man...Please, I'm sorry!"
He tried telling him, his previous rage now being taken over by fear.
"You don't get to be sorry!"
Drift grunted. Deirdre started to run away from both Drift and Ami, running towards the streets.
"Oh no you don't!"
Drift ran after him. It wasn't long before they were both on the public streets. Ami gasped in air as she slowly stood back up. She wiped the mud of her now dirty hoodie. Ami then took notice of what Drift was doing. She ran after him, feeling afraid that he could end up doing something that he'll live to regret.
Deirdre turned left after exiting the allyway and continued to sprint as fast as he could; there was no point in superjumping: Drift was only going to follow him to wherever he would end up being.
B A N G ! ! !
Drift sniped at Deirdre's leg using his Splatterscope, knocking him to the ground.
"Son of a-"
He grunted before feeling both pain and heat on the back of his head.
S L A M , S L A M , S L A M ! ! !
S L A M , S L A M , S L A M ! ! !
Drift was punching as hardest as he could punch, he'd let all his rage built up from the past couple of years slip out in an attempt to save his friend. Ami noticed the crowd staring and recording Drift. She knew that if she didn't step in, that Drift would take his first life.
"Drift! Please stop! You're gonna kill him!"
She cried out as she ran over to him, placing her hand on his shoulder.
"Drift please! I don't want to lose you!"
He didn't acknowledge Ami's cries, his rage was too much for him to handle. However, he did feel someone touch his shoulder, if only he knew who it was. He prepared his boiled fist for a punch to take out whoever he thought was behind him. However, just as he went in for the punch, his fist ignited with furious flames.
S L A M ! ! !
Drift unknowingly blasted Ami in the stomach, knocking her back. He paused and looked at his blazing hand as the fire went out. His angry face turned into a face filled with pure shock and fear. He turned around and saw who exactly he had just attacked.
"No!"
He yelled as he dashed towards the now unconscious Ami, the front of her zekko hoodie was now burnt.
"Ami please wake up...AMI!"
He started breathing hysterically, not knowing what to do, he saw everyone looking at him in shock, whispering to each other. Drift couldn't take the sight of it. He turned around and ran away from the crowd, all of which stood back when Drift ed them.
Drift ran to the end of the pathway and turned left, hiding behind a wall. He sat down and leaned against it, staring at his hand which keeped on igniting with flames. He looked in horror as he came to a horrifying realization: he was gifted...
