I drew Sonic and Shadow in a brand new style/design to show this concept. They may fight and Sonic teases Shadow but at the end of the day they both really do care for each other. They will help each other out in times of need and will each other through their troubles.

In this piece basically I feel Shadow would be sad about Maria after generations and Sonic would comfort him and joke around and tease to try and make him feel better getting a smirk out of Shadow because he deserves to smile okay?
