So, I have been meaning to do this for a long time, but, never really had the motivation to do so. Well, here we are now! My ideas for a Sonic the Hedgehog fan game!
Title, exposition, and characters.

Okay, let's start off with the title. The title of this Sonic fan game should be.... Drumroll please!

Yeah, not the most creative title, but hey. It sounds nice. The reason I chose this title is because it has a nice ring to it. Also, it's pretty easy to .
Exposition
Okay, so the story starts some time after the events of Sonic Mania.
Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles were relaxing on the beaches of Angel Island. Tails was doing his sciencey thing and picks up a emerald reading. For some reason, it was moving twords a new island that no one has ever explored. It's name? Northside island. Sonic imediatly knew that Robotnik had atleast some part in this. And so they travel off to Northside island to save the emeralds and kick Robotnik's butt.

Sonic the Hedgehog
The fastest thing alive. What's a Sonic game with out Sonic? This blue hedgie boyo retains all the moves from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles. Plus options in the debug menu for Mania and CD moves

Miles 'Tails' Prower
Ah yes, the lovable two tailed fox. His move set is from, again, S3&K. Though, he does have a additonal move. If you hold up and the jump button, you can charge your flying. Making you fly higher at the start than if you would just double jumping to fly.

Knuckles the Echidna
Here he comes, rougher than the rest of them. The best of them. Tougher than leather. This knuckle head also retains his moves from S3&K, but has the additional double jump.

Mighty the Armadillo
The red armadillo comes in swinging. Mighty is an unlockable character, out of three, To unlock him, you must find him in one of the stages tied up. He can use the drop dash from Mania, but has the additional bonus of causing a screen nuke. Though, there is a timer on the screen nuke because after he lands, his shell cracks a bit and you will have to wait for that to clear up. Which takes about a minute.

Ray the Flying Squirrel
The yellow squirrel glides in from the sky! Ray is the second unlockable character in thie game. Again, you have to find him tied up in a stage. His move's consist of flying like Mario's cape feather. But, when you don't fly, you glide to the ground. Basically the same moves from Mania Plus.

Amy Rose/ Rosy the Rascal
The pink hedgie storms in! With her mighty Piko Piko Hammer built by Tails, she can plummel badniks with ease! There are multiple moves she can do with her hammer, but she cannot hit enimies from above by judt jumping. Basically, she is the same from Sonic Advance. Amy is the third and final unlockable character. She is different from the rest on unlocking her. You find her in a animal capsule hidden in a level.

The Eggman. With his IQ of 300, he takes over Northside Islands for his new Death Egg launching station. Go on badniks! Go get Sonic and his friends...

Metal Sonic
After being beaten at the Stardust Speedway, robotnik somehow gets him back and repairs him. Making him better than before! Watch out Sonic! He might just be stronger than you...

Stages
Alright, Sonic the Hedgehog; AF has 10 zones in total with four having one act and one having three acts. The rest of the zones have two acts in total.
Northside Isles Zone
The first zone you will ever see. This comes after a small sprite cutscene (That cutscene will be explained later). In the first act you see a beutiful beach surrounded by a tropical ocean. A few small islands are in the background. This is basically the 'getting used to the controls' zone. In the second act, you come to see a small palm tree forest with small rivers. The music in this zone is an upbeat tropical type of music.
Runic Rumble Zone
The second zone in this game. The first act is a huge tropical jungle filled with vines and waterfalls. There is a vine swinging gimmick in the first act. In the second act, you enter a jungle ruin. There is a small puzzle element in this act. The music in this zone is Jungle Zone-esc with a touch of mysteriousness, like Search Man's stage from Mega Man 8
Aquatic Quarry Zone
The third zone in the game. As the zone name suggests, this stage is an underwater quarry. The first act has barely any water, but has a minecart gimmick like in Sonic the Hedgehog 4; Episode 1 or in Donkey Kong Country 1 on the SNES. Act two has you actually going underwater and thats it. The music in this zone is ominous and creepy.
Volcanic Venture Zone
The fourth zone in the game. Volcanic Venture starts out with you outside the volcano. The first act's gimmick is breaking rocks Thats it. But, the main attraction is in act two. Act two is inside volcano. The gimmick is kinda like Marble Zone's. It has the floating on lava and the lava pillars that shoot up. The lava floating is much faster than Marble zone's. The music is kinda like Mario Kart 8's Grumble Volcano.
Fearful Factory Zone
Ah yes. Fearful Factory zone. This zone starts out outside the factory. As you run through the zone, you'll see the factory-esc parts come in. It's like Sonic Robo Blast 2's Techno Hill Zone. The gimmick in this act is steam. The steam is like springs, so... Yeah... At the end of the zone, you enter the factory and fight the mini-boss there. More on that later. Act two starts out inside the factory. Here you see the second act's gimmick; Acid, bouncy gel, slow gel, and speed gel. The speed gel and bouncy gel is pretty much the gels in Portal 2. The slow gel is the oposite of the speed gel, basically. Acid kills you. Near the end of this level, you press a button, which is a self desruction button. So now you must run to the exit. The music from this zone is like Sonic Robo Blast 2's Techno Hill Zone act 1's music.
Aerial Attack Zone
Aerial Attack is an one act zone. It's basically Sky Chase on Steroids. Nothing else, really. Just fly on the tornado and destroy badniks. There is a secret boss in this zone, but that will be explained later. The music in this zone is upbeat and reminicent of Sky Chase.
Robo Fleet Zone
Robo Fleet Zone is the second one act zone in the game. This zone has you jumping from ship to ship. This zone has a sort of metroidvania gimmick to it. On each ship, there is multiple switches to blow up the whole ship. Once you press all the switches on one switch, there will be a timer counting down it's own destruction, so you will have to quickly get off the ship to the next one. There would be a total of four ships. The fourth ship is where the boss would be, and would be just a regular gameplay part. The ships would get just a bit bigger on each ship, adding one switch to each ship. The music in this zone would be like Storm Eagle from Mega Man X1
Death Egg Zone
Ah yes, Robotnik's plans have finnally come to fruition. The Death Egg zone has three acts, all of them deal with a gravity gimmick. It's kinda like the death egg from Sonic 4 Episode 2 or Sonic 3 and Knuckles. But, there is no boss in this zone at all, because...
Final Gambit Zone
This zone is a one act boss attack! Just the Robotnik bosses, though. The zone would be you going in and out of the Death Egg, which each boss comming after a small part with a few rings. The bad ending final boss is at the end of this level. The music in this zone is kinda like Doomsday Zone or Sigma Fortress 1 from Mega Man X.
Stardust Satellite
This is the last one act zone. This zone can only be accessed by collecting all the chaos emeralds. After a small cutscene, you end up on the moon with Robotnik's last resort. The music here is the cancelled Sonic X-Treme's song, Space Queens.
