P5 Romance Tier List

Alright gonna start from the bottom:

F tier: I shouldn't have to explain why Lavenza and the twins are there. If you wanna woo these characters I have several questions and concerns. All the adults are here too cuz Joker's a minor and I ain't about that, Chief.

"But Jasmine why is Kasumi there??"

Because she's pushed on you to the point it's actually irritating and she's so reliant on Joker. Her outfit is based off his, he's one of her only friends, her only Showtime is with him, etc. Also you date her just a few months after she has an emotional breakdown uh...she doesn't need a boyfriend she needs THERAPY. Hard swerve.

D tier: Makoto and Chihaya

Oh man I know I'm going to get jumped on for this but I'm sorry y'all Makoto is just boring to me. Her Confidant is god awful and the "fake boyfriend" trope is so overdone I'm just not interested. Plus her wanting to be a cop is so tone deaf to P5's narrative like? Atlus why?

Chihaya is somewhere better but idk how old she is (she looks a few years older than Joker as opposed to significantly older). I do like how you help her get away from that group forcing her to sell fake stuff, though. She's genuinely sweet and nice and a fun character.

C tier: Futaba

Step up from previous tier but I don't like how her romance romanticizes codependency so I can't rank her any higher. I think the "she's too young" argument is stupid though because she's literally only a year younger (and so is Kasumi and everybody is jumping on her so y'all can't use that excuse anymore). Depending on who you ask she also feels too much like family and I personally just see her as a little sister.

A tier: Haru

She and Joker have absolutely fantastic chemistry and my only reservation is you romance her so soon after her dad dies. She deserved more time to grieve. But in of personality? Absolutely beautiful. Plus she wants to start her own café and Joker works part time at one come ooooon. They could have one together with a garden they use for cooking aaaa-

S tier: Ann, Hifumi

Hifumi starts off somewhat cold towards you but turns out to be a huge dork and I adore that. You bond with her over something she's ionate about which is a great start of a friendship and help her confront her mom and stay with her as she bravely tells everyone her games were rigged and begins again from the ground up. She's so brave and kind and she has this kind of.. mature beauty? She's really underrated.

Ann is my absolute favorite romance and I wrote a whole blog on why I love her with Joker but I'll yell again just a little bit. She's your best friend, super bubbly and friendly, and she's just... normal. Refreshingly so. Her romance feels like a wholesome "best friends to lovers" story and I'm weak for those.

Plus like.. you kiss her if you max her out. Oh my god. ShuAnn is so affectionate it's not even funny and I will cry. Plus she's excited about getting married and tells you that she loves you multiple times. I adore her.
