Herro guys, mah namah J3ff ( no pls don't ), and today I'm gonna talk about a topic that no one has ever talked before.

So we all know about the competitive potential of Yoshi and his strenghts. Quick projectile, great frame data, amazing kill power and good mobility allowing him to perform 50/50 kill setups and more. Also all of his aerials are great for spacing and connecting combos.

You also can't say anything about his b-specials either...

EXCEPT!

...his side-b. This move is probably the worst move on Yoshi's arsenal if not of the whole game.

But what if Daddy Sakurai decides to buff this move in Smash 5?

What the move will look like?

What will be its competitive potential?

And how will this move change the metagame as we know it?

That's what we're gonna discuss today with the help of Nick, a Yoshi main that helped me with some questions of this blog. Without his good suggestions, this blog wouldn't exist, so be sure to check him out if you haven't already.

Like I said in the beginning of this blog, this move has significant problems that can make this move one of the worst in the game.

His most significant problem is his really low priority, which means that a lot of moves can stop Yoshi's side B pretty easily.

Also It has quite a few frames of start lag and end lag so this means Yoshi's completely vulnerable during the start and the end of the move.

And last but not least, the complete lack of true followups and mix-ups.

It still has some cool techniques like the "ERMK" or the "Egg spin" that can increase the egg's speed and momentum if done right, but they're still really occasional and not that useful so you'll not use them that much in a match.

The first thing It's more likeable to change is It's low priority and increase it in order to take it on the same level as Wario's up aerial for example.

Also, in order to introduce new follow-ups after Yoshi's side B, it's necessary to decrease its start and end lag. If that happens, many combos will be true:

- Side B -> N-air -> jab

- Side B -> N-air -> Grab

- Side B -> N-air -> d-tilt/u-tilt

- Side B -> N-air -> Neutral B

- Side B -> U-air -> b-air/u-air

And at higher percents it might follow up into an up-air or a down b for a 50/50 kill setup.

Of course all of his previous egg roll techniques will remain in order to give that move more mixups.

So with this higher combo potential, and with these new way to kill your opponent, how will Yoshi be seen in the competitive scene?

If this Yoshi's side B buff will be true one day, his meta would change drastically.

Because of his new way to combo opponents, his new 50/50 kill setup and his new way to deal with stage control pressure, I only see his meta to evolve. And not only that, even some mus that Yoshi couldn't handle with his old side-b ( like DK for example ) can become more accessible because of that.

In the future he might even top 20 because of this.

But hey that's just a supposition!

We don't know if Sakurai in Smash 5 will buff this move or nerf the whole character; I just wanted to talk about what its changes will probably be if he decides to buff Yoshi's side B and what would happen next.
