Chapter 31: A new hope

Pearl had a talk with Fred to ask him about his future. She was worried about him being stuck in his work and she asked him if he wanted to get married, or form a family at all.

Fred didn't really want to think about love after what had happened, but he reassured her that he was meeting with someone, and he was planning to take things further. Which left Pearl less worried.

Pearl received a letter from a neighbor informing her of her husband's death. She and Fred went to pay their respects, although Pearl wasn't even sad at that point. Fred understood that his parents didn't have a good relationship, but he loved his father.

While he was there, Fred also visited his grandfather's grave. He really looked up to him, even though he didn't personally know him, since Pearl had told him a lot about him.

Back home, Fred kept working on Willow's training. Summer had arrived, so the place looked beautiful.

His Nectar business was thriving too! He had made a lot of money, so they didn't really have to worry. They could have moved to a better house, but Fred loved his home and wanted to stay there forever.

One day, Sylvia visited and wanted to talk with Fred. She confessed that she wasn't really interested in him, and that she was moving back to her home town. (Another love failure for him :pensive: ).

He was feeling really bad, so he stayed inside for a few days, until he decided to go out to his usual bar, which is the only place he wanted to be in, other than the house. But guess who was there too, playing the piano :eyes:

Pearl was also feeling quite lonely, she would spend her days cooking, doing the laundry or knitting.

Fred was about to go back to his training with Willow, when a random fox died, and poor Willow was so sad (maybe they were friends? 🥲).

A few months later, Fred visited the bar, as usual, and he met a woman outside. She was really extroverted and instantly started talking to Fred as if they were friends. It made him feel better, but he was a bit scared to start any type of relationship.

A few days later, he finally got the courage to ask her out on a date, and she was really excited! Fred was slowly letting himself feel again.

They went to a fancy restaurant and they both had a great time! Fred was really attracted to her, and she seemed to feel the same way.

When they were done, Fred invited her to his house, to be able to spend some more time together. (And they spent the whole night talking, getting to know each other and getting a bit flirty too :eyes: ).

Chapter Notes

I think that Fred has suffered enough, so I'm letting him have some happiness, he's too good, and he deserves it :weary: But we'll see how it ends :eyes:

I've actually reached the end of my screenshots for the challenge, I've been busy lately with final exams and I've also been working on other things, but I hope to continue playing soon!
