good morrow, my kings and queens!       

welcome to volume eight of the empty    

hearse! this week, our theme is the         

medieval period. sit you down and have

a laugh! if you’re not familiar with

the concept - perchance the middle ages

or dark ages rings a bell. if not, i’ve come

prepared with a short description. the

medieval times was a long period of time

(500AD - 1500AD) in European history.

when thou think of the medieval period,

most people think about jousting, kings,

knights, peasants, castles, cathedrals, etc.

it started with the fall of the Roman Empire

and lasted 1000 years.

thou've been chasing after the same mafia group for some months now. thou noticed a couple of hours ago that a man, daniel barton hath some unpaid gambling debts to the group.

daniel is a married man with nay kids and a sister who recently got divorced. when he noticed that his wife was missing, he called straight to the police, and thou happened to be on duty right when he called.

in the crime scene, thither art nay clues that led to believe in violence, and everything looks in its place. daniel explained that audrey, his wife, often goes on long walks in the eveningtide, which is wherefore he didn’t notice that she was gone until morrow.

thou received the footage from the camera that was filming at the end of the street. the only suspicious person thou see is gregory burr sneaking down the street. thou know that burr is part of the mafia gang that thou’ve been hunting, and thou immediately call in the suspected leader of the gang for interrogation.

thou battle howard rogers for a long time, neither side giving out their hand. finally, his phone buzzes. thou hadn’t realized that he’d brought his cell phone with him. thou confiscate the phone and read the text message.

if sherlock took place in the middle ages, dost thou think sherlock wouldst still be a consulting detective, and wherefore?

no because during that time period thither were wars and many other tragedies that took place, granted thither were murders but they didn’t have the equipment that they dost now so it was pretty much useless for a detective or someone of that title, he wouldst most likely be a guard and have the inside scoop of the area to make sure that the castle and queen or whoever is ruling at that time was protected and wouldst give out reports if something suspicious were going down.

i think he couldst be the consulting detective even in middle ages. people make crimes even in that times.

if sherlock took place in the middle ages, which character dost thou think wouldst be the best knight, and wherefore?

i think the best knights wouldst be john and microft, john because his bravery wouldst help him go straight to the attack and microft because he wouldst bring with him an entire battalion of other knights to be able to attack the enemies :joy:

john. my reason for my answer is, he shows dedication loyalty chivalry. which i know most knights have, he is strong and doesn’t crack under pressure; but his also calm & collected but aslo caring.

sherlock for sure, he can solve cases without too much investigation! it’s almost like magic, that’s wherefore i always get thinking if he had a religion, it’d be wicca or something along those lines! and then mayhap moriarty but i’m not too sure on that one :skull:

   John leaned forward on his horse and clenched his thighs tighter on the animal, pushing his heels into its ribs to urge it on. Come on, faster you big, beautiful beast. The wind whipping against his face and the churning muscles under him supplied him with an energy that he hadn’t had in a while. After another thirty minutes or so of pushing his horse as fast as it would go, he would finally be back to his castle and the one he loved most in this world.

   When the castle came into view, John grinned and pushed his horse even harder for one last sprint towards the stables. He reached the stables in record time, jumping off his horse and nodding to a stable hand before turning to sprint to the castle looming over him. His clothing was heavy and suffocating, but he didn’t care about it anymore. He felt light as air as he ran up the steps of the castle, waving to the guards stationed out front before bursting through the heavy double doors, running quickly to the most familiar wing of the castle, his lovers wing.

   As the door he was looking for approached, John slowed down to a steady walking pace and ran his fingers through his sweaty hair, combing it back from his forehead. He started thanking his past self for foregoing the armor and sword on the return trip from his excursion; he must’ve ed that it would lengthen the time before seeing his lover, and knew that future him would be quite angry about it. He couldn’t wait to see that face again, to hold that lithe body in his arms where it belonged once more.

   The door at the end of the hallway was open slightly, just as it always was when John was expected home from a journey. As John walked up slowly to the door, he heard some humming from inside the room. My love, John thought, pressing his fingers ever so slightly against the door and leaning in to listen. He listened for a few seconds, relishing in the sweet tune, before pushing the door open. Pushing the door closed behind him, John scanned the room, looking for. . . there.

   When John’s eyes landed on the love of his life, he was glad that he had closed the door behind him. There, standing in front of him was his heart, dressed in nothing but a silk robe that was starting to slip off the pale, sleek shoulders that he loved to worship. His eyes moved up and took in the familiar sight of high, sharp cheekbones framed by waves and waves of short, curly, black hair. John’s heart squeezed in his chest as he dropped to the ground in front of his life, kneeling as a greeting.

   “My lady,” John breathed out, a small smile on his face. “I’ve long awaited this day; every second away from you has been absolute torture.” He heard a chuckle and a sigh from above his head, and seconds later, he felt fingers running softly through his damp hair. John relished in the feeling of touch; he hadn’t had any positive human interaction since he left.

   “Now now John, there’s no need for that, it’s just us. Come on, up you pop, let me look at you properly. It’s been so long,” his pale, lanky beauty said, pulling softly at John’s shirt. John stood up and let his lover look over him once, twice, and a third time before grabbing him by the hips and pulling him in close. He put his nose to his bare, long neck and inhaled deeply, biting his lip to stifle a groan at the familiar smell. Sherlock.

   Sherlock’s fingers carded through John’s hair softly as John hugged the man tightly to his chest. “Really John,” Sherlock said with faux disapprovement, “you know how much I hate you calling me your ‘lady.’ I’m not some maiden that you swept off her feet and I’d appreciate it if you didn’t refer to me as one. Besides,” Sherlock purred, “I’m pretty sure I’m the one that captured your heart first, if I’m not mistaken.” John could feel Sherlock’s deep voice rumbling in his chest and he pulled himself in closer.

   “Oh shut it you. How else am I supposed to talk to you around my ‘knight buddies’ as you so affectionately call them? They would never accept us, Sherlock,” John said, running his hands up and down Sherlock’s back. Sherlock snorted and pressed a soft kiss to the crown of John’s head. John loved when he did that.

   “Your only ‘knight buddy’ is Lestrade, and you know for a fact that he already knows and he doesn’t care. In fact, he’s happy for us. I think that you just like making me angry, John.” John, who had been busy nuzzling into Sherlock’s neck, stepped back a little bit and smirked, a playful glint in his eyes. He grabbed Sherlock’s thin, beautiful hands and squeezed them tightly.

   “Maybe, maybe not. Now,” John said, the grin falling off his face, “will you- will you take a quick look at my shoulder? It might need some medical attention.” John’s face turned a bit red as Sherlock started slowly taking his shirt off of him, careful to avoid brushing his shoulder at all. When Sherlock had removed the layers, he gasped at a big gash on John’s shoulder. He led John to his bath chamber and sat him down on the edge of his tub and got supplies to stitch him up.

   “So, going to defend my ‘secret maiden honor’ didn’t go well? I’m sorry love,” Sherlock mumbled, cleaning out John’s cut. John waved his free hand dismissively.

    “It’s worth it to be able to come home to you, my lovely lady,” John mumbled back, closing his eyes to try to block out some of the pain.

   “If you call me you lady one more time, I might have to beat you at your own game and start defending your honor, instead of the other way around.”

   “I might have to let you.”
