My First Blog Ever.

Today I am gonna talk a bit about Schrödinger’s Cat.

So let's begin with it!

I am sure you must have heard atleast one version of the famous "thought" experiment involving the cutest cats (you’ll be like "thought", well yeah apparently physicist loves to daydream).

So what you do is put a cat in a closed box with a radioactive substance or say a poisonous gas which has a 50% chance of blowing up or leaking depending on which method you prefer to kill the cat (god you demonic people!) Anyways so until we look in the box we don’t know that whether the cat is dead or alive and even if we do open the box the kitty is either dead or alive . Now if we repeat the same experiment a number of times we will find half of the time kitty is alive and half of the time kitty is in a sparkling water lake swimming in heaven ; practically dead. Oh you curious people, YOUR CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT! [rip you poor cat.]

This is in Quantum mechanical interpetion is said that the cat is in a superposition i.e both alive and dead at the same time. Whoa whoa stop heavy words huh. Let us break it down.

As per Schrödinger at the instant before the box is opened the cat is equal parts alive and dead at the same time. Until the box is opened there’s obscured possibility. Superposition is a result of dual particle and wave nature of everything . You, me , cat everything!!! Now you will say 'nay mate we don’t see everyday objects behaving like waves' (that would be super cool if it was possible) because this relation is given by De Broglie’s hypothesis (yeah more daydreaming!)

This equation indicates more the mass or the velocity of an object lesser will be the wavelength so yeah considering an electron it’s wavelength is observable while that of an elephant is not .It has been demonstrated that if you fire an electron through a wall with two slits it actually appears to go through both at once .

Wouldn’t it be cool to be present at two place at once? It makes us realise how little we know of the universe and there’s so much more to be explored.

This almost related Jesus escape from the tomb. How his body disappeared. And then ghost apparitions of him appeared to people. And this also relates to Quantum superposition.
