If the sun was scaled down to the size of a white blood cell, the Milky Way would be the size of the continental United States.

There actually be more things in space than just empty space, perhaps dark matter or energy. Of course this is my speculation than a fact.

Venera 7 was not only the first mission to land on the surface of Venus, it was the first mission ever to soft land on any planet and send back data, the venera missions continued to land on the planet and some even sent back images of the surface like this one. They died very shortly after they reached the surface due to the hellish conditions on Venus.
