Augmented Reality (AR)

Hello, friends.

We all know about Virtual Reality (VR) but here in this blog you will meet Augmented Reality (AR), the future of gaming and other fields. I won't go deep into technical stuff. This post is for casual reading.

AR vs VR

Both AR and VR require special headsets. But there is a major difference.

VR takes you to totally new world WHEREAS the headsets of AR show animation on top of the real surrounding you are in.

We can use AR with the help of our phone camera too.

FIELDS OF USE

AR technology is widely used in games and camera filters.

Examples of games include:

1)Pokemon Go: Which shows pokemon jumping on our bed.

2)Angry birds AR: It creates a tower of bad piggies on your home floor.

3) Just a line: This app is developed by the GOOGLE team. It's the most amazing AR app on playstore. It lets you draw in air. Yes!! In air. And you can see your drawings by pointing your camera at it.

These games are available on playstore and you can try them easily. AR core must be pre-installed.

Other camera apps also use AR to recognise faces and superimpose animations.

Some business apps use AR to provide virtual trial feature to their customers.

For example: you can try virtual spectacles in the app before buying it or you can put a virtual furniture in your drawing room to know how it will look.

Not just this, AR technology has more implimentation.

They were first used in Fighter Planes. They help the pilot to look through the plane walls and aim at target better.
